The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 282

Ella watched David.

He barely spared her a glance, his face unreadable, before turning to Jessa with a gentle smile. “Let’s go back,” he said softly.

He didn’t need to say anything else. That was all the confirmation Jessa needed, and he did it right in front of Ella.

Jessa’s lips curled up in a sweet, satisfied smile. She just knew Ella had to be burning with jealousy right now, absolutely miserable. Did that country girl really think she could compete with her?

“Okay,” Jessa replied, looping her arm around David’s and starting to walk away.

But before they could get far, Ella’s clear voice rang out behind them. “David.”

He stopped and turned, his eyes meeting hers.

Jessa couldn’t resist a laugh. “Ella, you’re divorced. Are you really still clinging to David? Hoping he’ll come back to you?”

Ella stood tall in the hallway, ignoring Jessa completely. Her eyes, bright and steady, locked on David as she spoke, her voice calm and beautiful. “David, I loved you.”

David looked at her, silent.

“I never thought loving someone was anything to be ashamed of,” Ella continued. “And it’s definitely not a reason for you two to treat me like a joke. I loved you honestly, with everything I had, but now... I don’t love you anymore.”

She meant every word.

David’s shoulders seemed to tense just a little.

Ella took a step toward them, her movements smooth and confident. “What are we now? We’re exes. That means if we run into each other on the street, we act like strangers. So do me a favor. Keep your new girlfriend in check. I don’t need her popping up in my life, acting like a ghost from the past.”

Ella cut him off, not missing a beat. “Careful, Cedric. If you want to talk to me, maybe keep your voice down. Unless you want everyone to know how bad you are at games. Remember when you dropped from top rank to the bottom after a match with me? I’m sure people would love to hear about that.”

Cedric froze, then practically jumped out of his skin. “Ella, you’re impossible!”

She gave him a look up and down. “You haven’t seen impossible yet. If you bother me again, I’ll make sure you go from bottom rank to total loser.”

Cedric gaped, struggling for words.

Ella didn’t bother with any of them. She walked away, cool and unbothered, her confidence leaving them all in her wake.

Cedric was fuming. “David, did you see that? Did you see what she just said?”

Jessa was just as furious. “David, did you hear her?”
