David’s face relaxed a little.
“I really like this bag. To show my thanks, I’d like to invite Jessa over to my place tomorrow.”
Lilly was inviting Jessa to hang out at the Lynch estate.
David nodded. “Sounds good.”
He left, and not long after, Ella walked back in. “Lilly, did I keep you waiting?”
Lilly grinned and grabbed Ella’s hand. “I was just about to come looking for you.”
“Come on, let’s get out of here. I’m starving. Let’s hit up that street with all the food stalls.”
“Okay, I’ll go pay.”
Ella stopped her right away and pulled a shiny black card from her purse. “No way, I’m paying tonight. This is the card David gave me when we divorced. From now on, I’m charging everything to him.”
Lilly’s eyes sparkled. “Ella, that’s exactly what you should do. It’s Mr. Harmon’s way of making it up to you. If you don’t spend it, you’re just leaving it for Jessa.”
Ella looked at the card, turning it over in her hand. “I wonder how much money is on this thing.”
Lilly thought for a second. “No idea. So let’s go buy a mansion tomorrow.”
Ella shot her a mischievous look and fluttered her lashes. “That’s too easy. Tomorrow, we’ll buy an aircraft carrier.”
…
David passed Lilly’s invitation to Jessa, and both Jessa and Sarah lit up with excitement.
“Jessa, this is amazing,” Sarah gushed. “Allie loved the bag you gave her. She wants to be your friend now, and she even invited you to the Lynch estate tomorrow!”
Jessa hadn’t expected things to go so smoothly. Winning over Allie, the family’s little favorite, had been easier than she thought.
It looked like getting the Lynch family’s approval and support was just a matter of time.
Just then, Sarah remembered something. “Jessa, since you and David are about to get married, you should make sure he gives you his extra credit card.”
David’s extra card?
“That card is linked straight to his main account. Once you have it, you can spend anything you want from the entire Harmon Corporation.”
Jessa’s heart soared. She hadn’t even known about the card, but now she wanted it more than anything.
Still, David had never brought it up to her before.
“I don’t want to ask for it. I want David to give it to me himself,” Jessa said, sounding a little spoiled.
“They always say a man’s heart is where his money is. David loves you so much, he’ll definitely hand it over without you even needing to ask.”
“Sarah, you always know what to say.”
