“We get to hang out with Allie, while you, the ugly chick, have no one but that country bumpkin, Ella. Honestly, it’s just sad.”
Ava could barely keep from rolling her eyes. She was so done.
But Lilly just smiled, bright and unbothered. “Yeah, I’m so jealous you all get to be with Allie.”
Sarah giggled and nudged Jessa. “Come on, let’s not waste time on her. Let’s go meet Allie.”
Jessa smirked. “Let her stay jealous. We’re going in.”
The two of them swept past and disappeared inside.
Ava watched them leave, then snickered. “They really have no clue who you are, do they, Miss?”
Lilly lifted an eyebrow. “No rush. I’m about to give them a real surprise.”
…
Jessa and Sarah stepped into the living room, and for a second, Jessa felt like she was dreaming. She had actually made it into the Lynch family’s house.
She was one step closer to her goal.
A maid came over and smiled politely. “Please have a seat. Our young miss is upstairs changing right now. She’ll be down soon.”
“Thank you.”
They sat down on the plush sofa, waiting patiently for Allie to show up.
Jessa was quietly rehearsing what she’d say. She was sure she could win Allie over. She needed Allie on her side more than anything.
After a moment, the maid’s voice rang out again. “Our young miss is coming downstairs.”
Allie was finally here.
Jessa and Sarah shot up from the sofa, hearts pounding as they stared at the staircase.
They couldn’t accept it.
“Lilly, this isn’t true, right? You’re just pretending to be Allie, aren’t you?”
“How dare you!” Ava’s voice cut through the room like a knife.
Suddenly, a group of black-suited bodyguards swept in, surrounding Jessa and Sarah.
The girls froze in fear. Lilly walked calmly past them and settled onto the sofa, crossing her legs with effortless confidence.
Ava glared at them. “Where did these rude girls come from, messing with Miss Lilly? If you say another word, I’ll have you thrown out.”
Jessa and Sarah stared at Lilly. She took a cup of tea from the maid, sipped it with perfect composure, then looked back at them.
“You wanted to meet Allie, right? Congratulations. You found her. I am Allie.”
