The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 296

There was a teenage guy in a black t-shirt and black pants. Lilly instantly recognized him. That was Jace.

Jace and Lucas were basically the two legends of Central College. Lucas was the golden boy, the rich, charming type every girl wanted. Jace was the opposite. Cold, distant, always alone. Girls never dared approach him, though his name came up in every late-night dorm room chat.

Lilly watched as Jace pulled Rainy Devil away without a second thought. The man snapped back, his face twisted and mean. “You little punk, do you have any idea who you’re messing with? You just ruined everything.”

He lunged at Jace, fist swinging.

Jace moved so fast it was almost hard to follow. He dodged easily and drove his fist into the guy’s stomach.

The man slammed into the side of the car, coughing up blood.

Jace’s hair was cropped close, highlighting sharp features that seemed carved from stone. He was handsome, but in a way that made him look untouchable, almost dangerous.

Rain dripped down his jaw and neck as he closed in on Rainy Devil. Muscles bunched beneath his black shirt, his chest rising and falling as he caught his breath, every inch of him radiating raw, masculine power.

Rainy Devil finally realized he was in over his head. He started begging. “Please… don’t… don’t hit me again…”

But then, just as quickly, his expression changed. He suddenly yanked out a knife, aiming it right at Jace.

Lilly’s heart stopped. “Watch out!” she shouted.

Jace didn’t even blink. He caught the man’s wrist and twisted it hard.

There was a sickening crack as the guy’s wrist snapped.

The knife dropped into Jace’s hand. Without hesitating, he drove it straight into the man’s shoulder.

The scream tore out of Rainy Devil’s throat, echoing in the night.

Jace twisted the blade, his face completely blank.

Panic flooded the man’s eyes. He’d killed two people in the past month, blood already on his hands. But now, looking at Jace, he was terrified. He stammered, “You… you’re a monster…”

As he approached, she managed to whisper, “What… what do you want?”

Jace stopped. He looked down at her, then tossed his black jacket her way.

“Put it on.”

His voice was as cold as his eyes.

Lilly caught the jacket. It was his. It still felt warm from his body.

So warm.

How did someone so cold have such warmth?

Jace didn’t look at her again. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number.
