The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 302

There was a loud thump as David rolled off the bed, waking up in a daze.

He never thought he’d get kicked out of bed. Shooting Lilly a sharp glare, he snapped, “Lilly, what are you doing?”

Lilly planted her hands on her hips. “You’re already divorced. You can’t cuddle with her while you sleep.”

David was still groggy, but her words made him freeze.

Had he really been holding Ella?

“You had your arm around her shoulder, holding her so tight. I won’t allow it. If you want to hold someone, go find Jessa. Someday, someone else will be holding Ella instead.”

Someone else holding Ella. The thought hit David hard.

“Shut up,” he barked, his patience running thin.

All the noise woke Ella. She sat up, rubbing her sleepy eyes. “Lilly, David, are you both awake already?”

David glanced at her. She looked so soft and innocent, her cheeks rosy from sleep, completely clueless about what just happened.

This was all her fault.

She curled up to him last night. He was sure he hadn’t held her when he first fell asleep, but somehow, by morning, he’d ended up with his arms around her. Lilly had seen them and wasted no time kicking him out of bed.

But the real troublemaker looked so innocent now, not knowing a thing. David shot her a dark look, then turned and walked straight into the bathroom.

He splashed his face with cold water, trying to snap out of it. From the other room, he could hear the girls talking.

“What’s up with him this morning?” Ella sounded completely lost. “Why is he so grumpy?”

“No idea,” Lilly replied. “Maybe he just woke up on the wrong side of the bed.”

Ella shrugged. “Well, he’s rich. If he wants to be cranky, let him.”

They both giggled.

“So many girls have tried to give you water, but you never take it. Why did you take it from Sarah?”

“She’s everyone’s dream girl, man. Not bad, Lucas. You snagged her without a word.”

“Lucas and Sarah look amazing together. Seriously, you two are perfect.”

“Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!” the crowd chanted, grinning and cheering them on.

Someone reached out and gave Sarah a gentle push, making her stumble right into Lucas’s arms.

He caught her quickly, steadying her.

Everyone burst out laughing.

Ella and Lilly watched from the edge of the crowd. Ella glanced at Lilly, worry in her eyes. “Lilly, are you okay?”

Lilly just raised an eyebrow, a smirk on her lips. “I’m great. Ella, wait here for me.”
