The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 318

Grandma Jill and the rest of the family had gotten their invites to the Summit Academic Forum ages ago. Everyone was eager to see this so-called genius girl with their own eyes.

No one could picture what she’d be like. What kind of person could be that gifted?

Jessa, still holding onto David’s arm, felt her jealousy spike every time the genius was mentioned.

Lately, all of Rockford Bay seemed obsessed with this girl. Everyone was talking about her, waiting to see her and David together for the first time. In two days, Jessa would be there herself, just to see what all the fuss was about.

Ella stood off to one side, watching the crowd with a sly, almost teasing smile. The whole scene was honestly pretty funny to her.

She actually let out a quiet laugh.

But then she sensed someone watching her. She glanced up and caught David staring at her with those cold, sharp eyes.

He hadn’t looked away from her, not for a second.

Ella dropped her gaze, pretending not to notice.

Rachel pulled the conversation back on track. “Ella, since Devon has already told you his feelings, you should spend the next couple of days getting to know him. After that, we can just set the wedding date.”

Ella stared at her mother. Rachel really was in a rush. She looked like she’d marry Ella and Devon off right this minute if she could, anything to clear the way for Jessa.

Ella turned to Devon. “Devon, sorry, but this just isn’t going to happen. You don’t need to waste your time on me.”

Everyone went silent, stunned.

Grandma Jill was the first to speak up, her voice stern. “Ella, have you lost your mind? How could you say no to Devon?”

Maureen scoffed. “Ella, Devon’s even willing to take you to the Summit Academic Forum. Do you really think you could get in there by yourself?”

She turned to David. “David, you know all those company CEOs. Why not introduce one to Ella?”

David fixed his gaze on Ella. Their divorce wasn’t that long ago. Did she really have a new boyfriend already?

Ella glanced at Jessa, then looked right at David. She remembered him telling her at that little inn that if he found a suitable CEO, he’d introduce her.

“No need to bother Mr. Harmon. My boyfriend is already very rich,” Ella replied, raising her eyebrows.

Rich?

Maureen was the first to laugh. “Ella, what kind of rich guy would go for you? Don’t tell me he’s some creepy old man.”

Ella clasped her hands behind her back, eyes twinkling as she blinked playfully. “My boyfriend isn’t just rich. He’s insanely handsome too.”
