All the attention in Club 1996 landed on Jessa. Her confident eyes sparkled in the lights as she spun gracefully and stopped right in front of David. With a playful smile, she reached out and pulled him up from his seat.
David stood tall and striking, and Jessa pressed close, her body moving against his in a slow, sensual dance. Every move was an invitation, every step turning up the heat. Together, they looked like the perfect couple, their chemistry making the whole club buzz with excitement.
That was when Ella and Fiona walked in. The moment Ella stepped inside, she spotted David and Jessa right in the middle of the dance floor, surrounded by dazzling lights. Jessa was practically glued to David, moving to the music, while he watched her with that gentle, handsome look that drew everyone’s eyes.
Fiona scoffed under her breath. “Seriously? Dancing all over a married man like she has no shame at all.”
Ella just shrugged with a small smile. “They’ve always been the golden couple around here. Let’s just ignore them.”
They headed to their booth, but Fiona clearly wasn’t ready to let it go. “Ella, didn’t you use to dance too?”
Ella nodded. She was a dancer, just like Jessa. Back then, Jessa would need a whole class to learn one routine, but Ella could pick it up after watching once. Their dance teacher adored Ella.
Jessa would go home in tears. One night, their mother came in with a needle. She sat beside Ella and pricked her leg, whispering, “Are you going to keep dancing? Why do you have to be so petty, always competing with your sister?”
Blood ran down Ella’s leg. She curled up in the corner, crying and begging, “It hurts, Mom... I’m sorry. I won’t dance again. I promise. Please...”
After that, Ella never danced again.
She heard Jessa went on to become a star, even leading as a principal ballerina.
Now, Fiona pulled Ella to her feet. “Come on, Ella. Let’s go dance.”
