The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 364

David looked up and spotted Ella.

She had just walked into Herbs Life hospital.

Right then, he felt someone grab his arm. Jessa was holding on tight. “Why is Ella here? David, I don’t want to see her. Just looking at her makes my heart race.”

David tore his eyes away from Ella and gently pulled his arm free from Jessa’s grip. “Let’s just head back. I’ll get the car.”

He walked off without another word.

Since coming back, Jessa had been glued to David. He did whatever she asked and hadn’t reached out to Ella at all, but Jessa could feel him growing distant. It was obvious. He wasn’t in love with her anymore. All that was left was a sense of duty.

Jessa balled her hands into fists, frustration simmering beneath the surface.

...

Inside the hospital, Ella found Wyatt.

He smirked at her. “Ella, you’ve lost weight. Looks like leaving Grandpa and the guys behind really did a number on you. Love’s been rough, huh?”

Ella shot him a glare. She knew they would tease her, and Wyatt was the worst of them all with his sharp tongue.

“If you’re just here to make fun of me, I’m leaving,” Ella said.

Wyatt quickly reached out to stop her. “Wait, I have something for you.”

He held out a property deed.

“What’s this?”

“Your secret’s out. Everyone knows you’re a genius now. Are you really going to keep living in the dorms? Here. I got you a place of your own.”

Ella knew it was probably time to move out, but since Lilly was still in the dorms, she figured she could always visit and stay over sometimes. She took the deed.

Wyatt pulled a car key from his pocket. “And here’s a car. You’ll need it.”

He really came prepared, handing over both a house and a car.

He didn’t bother getting out. He just looked at Jessa and said, “Get in.”

Then his gaze drifted past her to Ella, who was standing a few steps away.

Ella’s clear eyes locked with his. For a moment, it was just the two of them, caught in their own world.

Jessa followed David’s gaze and immediately rolled her eyes. “Ella, you really are everywhere. Are you following us or something?”

Following them? Ella let out a little laugh. “Jessa, you’re not the center of the universe. If you’re feeling paranoid, you’re already at a hospital. Maybe get that checked out.”

Jessa scoffed. “There’s no way we keep running into each other by accident. You’re clearly not over David, so you’re stalking us.”

Maureen jumped in. “Ella, you and Mr. Harmon are divorced. He doesn’t want you anymore. There’s no point trailing after him.”

Rachel studied Ella. The “genius girl” title had been a surprise, but so what?

Rachel smiled coldly. “Ella, I never would’ve guessed you were such a genius. But after graduation, you didn’t even get a job. You just married Mr. Harmon and became a housewife. Now that he’s divorced you, you’ve got nothing. Stop staring at Mr. Harmon and Jessa. Seriously, go get a job or something. A woman needs to be independent.”
