The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 402

Jessa and Maureen stood there quietly, too ashamed to say a word.

At that moment, the villa gate creaked open. Wyatt stepped out, looking as handsome and calm as ever.

Grandma Jill lit up. “Wyatt, hello. We’re so glad to finally meet you.”

Wyatt leaned in the doorway, his gaze moving over the group. “What’s going on?”

Jessa noticed that Wyatt seemed to be in a pretty good mood. He’d made them wait outside in the cold and drizzle for over half an hour, and she couldn’t shake the feeling that he’d done it on purpose. Maybe he’d even been watching them and having a good laugh.

Grandma Jill took the lead. “Well, here’s the thing. We got scammed by someone pretending to be Doctor E. They took everything from us. We don’t know where else to turn, so we came to you for help.”

Maureen chimed in. “Wyatt, you mentioned before that you knew Doctor E pretty well. Was that true?”

Wyatt’s lips curved into a small smile. “I told you last time, you got mixed up with a con artist. Doctor E’s actually a lady, so it couldn’t have been a man, and yes, I do know her well.”

Jessa’s eyes lit up with hope. “Wyatt, could you please help us find the fake Doctor E and get our money back?”

Wyatt surveyed the Irvine family. He’d actually spent the last thirty minutes upstairs, enjoying the show. Now, seeing how desperate they looked, he smiled again. “There’s no point asking me. If you want help, you need to ask someone else.”

“Who?” they all pressed.

He gave them the answer. “Ella.”

That name hung in the air.

Ella. Again?

First Mr. Lynch told them to go to Ella. Now Wyatt was saying the same thing. What was so special about her?

“Wyatt, come on. This isn’t funny. Ella can’t help us at all,” Jessa protested.
