The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 423

David would never be okay with Lilly dating Jace.

Ella shot back, “Why do you care so much? What Lilly does is none of your business.”

David looked right at her. “Are you done messing around? If you are, I’ll take you home.” He grabbed Ella’s arm and started pulling her away.

Fiona called out behind them, “Ella! Mr. Harmon!”

Jace slipped backstage to change. He didn’t come here often, but the money was hard to resist. He pulled off his ripped white tank top and reached for a black sweatshirt, but just then, the door swung open behind him. Jace’s eyes narrowed. “Who is it?”

Lilly had followed him, and she froze when she saw Jace standing there shirtless. Her face turned bright red and she threw her hands up to cover her eyes. “Ah!”

Jace quickly tugged the black sweatshirt over his head, grabbed his bag, and turned to leave. He didn’t even look at Lilly, acting as if she wasn’t there at all.

But Lilly stepped right in front of him. “Jace, are you seriously pretending you don’t know me?”

Jace stopped. “Move.”

Lilly stood her ground. Whenever Jace tried to step around her, she blocked him. Left, right, it didn’t matter. She was determined. With her hands on her hips, she said, “I’ll move if you actually talk to me.”

Jace reached out, grabbed her by the collar, and lifted her gently but firmly to the side like she weighed nothing. Lilly’s feet dangled off the floor for a second. She stared at him in shock. He was really that strong.

Jace set her down, opened the door, and left without another word.
