David winced in pain. Some things never changed—she still liked to bite.
He pushed Ella back, sending her tumbling onto the sofa. Her body landed softly among the cushions, and just as she tried to sit up, David’s tall frame leaned over her, pinning her down.
Ella pressed her hands against his firm chest, her brows knitting together. “David, what are you doing... mmmph!”
Her words got swallowed by his kiss. David’s lips claimed hers before she could protest.
Ella’s eyes went wide. The last time they’d been this close was back in that village, when he’d forced himself on her. Nothing had happened between them since then.
Now, that clean, cold, commanding scent of his washed over her again. He parted her lips and kissed her deeply, leaving her mind spinning and blank.
“David, let me go!”
Ella fought back, pushing against his suit. Her fingers brushed against the cool tassel pin on his jacket, the touch startling her for a moment.
She struggled beneath him, her resistance only making the tension between them burn hotter. David was relentless, drinking in her sweetness and letting his lips wander to her cheek and earlobe.
“David, stop! What are you doing? We’re divorced!”
David’s hand moved to the buttons of her shirt.
Suddenly, the shrill sound of her phone rang out, slicing through the tension.
Ella fumbled for her phone and glanced at the screen. Wyatt was calling.
“David, Wyatt is calling me. If you don’t stop, I’ll answer it,” she warned.
David reached out and cupped her face, a small, amused smile on his lips. “Is that your new kink now?”
“What are you talking about?” Ella snapped.
