Aiden slipped in quietly and spoke in a low voice. “Sir, there’s news about Doctor E.”

David’s hand paused mid-signature. He looked up at Aiden, his eyes sharp. “Go on.”

“We just heard from Doctor E’s side. She’s coming to the banquet tonight. She’s really in Rockford Bay, and she wants to meet you there.”

David’s gaze deepened. He’d been chasing after Doctor E for what felt like forever. So many false alarms, so much confusion, and even that whole mess with the fake Doctor E. Now, finally, the real one had shown up.

Tonight, he’d finally see who Doctor E really was.

A slow smile tugged at his lips. “Alright. I’ll meet her at the banquet.”

He walked in to find Jessa sulking on the bed. “David, what happened with you and Ella last night? Why were you even with her? I know it was her. She must have seduced you. She bought that house across from yours on purpose, just so she could get close to you all the time.”

“Jessa.” David stopped her before she could go on.

She looked up at him, eyes brimming with accusation.
