The Genius Ex-Wife’s Revenge Portfolio novel Chapter 71

Jessa rushed forward to explain, her voice shaking. “It’s not what you think…”

“Get out of my way!” Ruby pushed her hard.

Jessa lost her balance, slamming into the wall. A red mark spread across her forehead.

Rachel didn’t hesitate. She grabbed Ruby’s arm. “How dare you hit Jessa!”

Ruby twisted around, grabbing a fistful of Rachel’s hair and scratching at her face with sharp, manicured nails. “Rachel, who do you even think you are? You married your own brother-in-law. Trash!”

For a while, the Irvine family’s growing success had managed to bury Rachel’s messy past. But now Ruby had dragged it back into the light for everyone to see.

Whispers broke out everywhere. “Wait, did Rachel really marry her brother-in-law?”

“Seriously, you didn’t know? Her first husband was the older brother. When he died, she married the younger one.”

“She slept with both brothers? That’s wild.”

Rachel was shaking with anger. She lunged at Ruby, yelling, “Shut up! I’ll tear that filthy mouth of yours apart!”

The two women devolved into a violent tangle, clawing at each other like they’d lost all sense. Peter tried to step in and break them up, but Logan swung at him, and Peter stumbled back, blood streaming from his nose.

Maureen grabbed Jessa, and the two of them started shoving each other. In seconds, the whole room exploded into chaos, with both families fighting in a messy free-for-all.

Grandma Jill was helpless, watching her birthday party unravel. She shouted, desperate, “Stop it! All of you, stop!”

Suddenly, Rachel and Ruby crashed into the birthday table. The cake tumbled and scattered across the floor.

“My cake!” Grandma Jill cried.

It only got worse. Rachel and Ruby managed to knock over the decorative box, and the painting David had given as a gift fell to the ground. The artwork was stomped on, ripped to shreds beneath their feet.
