The Heir And The Servent Started From A Bet novel Chapter 104

Chapter 104

Alex sat on the plush leather couch in Lucas’s living room, a glass of whiskey cradled in his hand.

The soft hum of jazz playing in the background. Lucas and Sammy lounged nearby, their eyes fixed on him with a mix of curiosity and disbelief.

“What’s this we are hearing about you and that girl” lucas says blowing his smoke

“You’re literally everywhere with her,” Sammy adds.

Alex says nothing. His friends were waiting for him to say something but he doesn’t.

“So, it’s true?” Lucas finally broke the silence. “You’re dating that Turner girl?”

Alex took a slow sip of his drink, the liquid burning down his throat. He nodded, not meeting their eyes.

“Is this some kind of game you and Zoe are playing?” Lucas pressed. “I mean, damn man, I know she’s pretty, but she’s a Turner. That family-”

“Yeah, but she’s different,” Alex replied, his voice steady.

His friends burst into laughter.

“Alex, Turner girls pretend to be help, so they can get employment into rich homes, and then sleep with the owners for money,” Lucas scoffed. “They’re disgusting.”

“I’ve had threesome with two of the Turners,” Sammy added. “My brother slept with one of them, even my father did.”

Alex knows their history, who doesn’t in Willowcrest.

They joined maid work to get access to rich homes and men. The whole maid job thing was a cover for what they do.

He took another sip of his drink, trying to push the thoughts away.

“My girl is different,” he repeated.

“You’re really serious with that girl”

“Very”

“She’s a Turner man. What the fuck are you doing?”

“What about Zoe” Lucas asked.

“Broke up, told you guys”

“You can’t break up with Zoe”

“I’m pretty sure I can”

His friends look between themselves then they turn to him.

“Who are you and what did you do to our friend ” Sammy says

Alex chuckles.

Your friend fell in love”

“She’s a Turner man”

“She’s different’

His friends snorted in disbelief.

“You know what? I love challenges,” Sammy said. “Let’s test this right now.”

“I say we make a bet,” Lucas chimed in.

Alex’s heart dropped at the word “bet.” That’s how he and Mia came about.

He remembered how Mia had agreed to go on dates with him for money. Then, after they slept together, he told her she was just a game to entertain his girlfriend.

Mia had looked so broken, it broke him. She had left the money on the table in the hotel. So yeah, his girl was different.

“Having doubts, huh, Alex?” his friends taunted.

Alex chuckled, masking his inner turmoil.

He shouldn’t be doing this, but if it would stop his friends from doubting and constantly talking shit about Mia, then fine. Besides, this was how things were run in his world.

“I want your Mercedes by tomorrow,” Lucas said staring at him

“What the hell, Lucas?” Sammy says.

Alex stared at his friend, saying nothing.

“Where is she?” Lucas asked.

“Are we doing it now?” Sammy asked.

“Why not? Why wait?” Lucas said.

“So, what will you want in return if she passes?” Sammy asked eyes fixed on him.

“She won’t pass though” Lucas says, confident.

“True” Sammy agrees

“That you respect her,” Alex said firmly.

“That’s what you want?” his friends asked, surprised.

“Yeah. That’s what I want.”

His friends stared at him for few seconds, to be sure they were really doing this

“Deal.”

“Deal.”

Mia was exhausted and just wanted to get home and sleep. He had returned back home and was now trying to get used to living with his annoying family again.

Alex had texted her earlier about some important issues that came up so he couldn’t come around to casa or come pick her

Which brings her to the spot she is right now.

Sitting on a bench, waiting for a bus.

Someone sits beside her, too close.

Mia glanced at the person, adjusting on her seat.

She paused immediately she recognized who it was.

Lucas.

“Hi” Lucas says

‘Hi” Mia says unsurely

Why is this guy talking to her?

Lucas was sitting too close, leaning just far enough into her space to make her skin crawl, but not enough to give her an excuse to be uncomfortable.

Then he dropped an envelope on her lap.

It landed with a light thud, but it sounded heavier than anything she’d ever held.

“That’s 50 thousand dollars,” Lucas said, his voice even, like he was announcing the time.

“That’s for you,” He added casually.

Mia stared at him

“I’m sorry… what?” she asked, her voice quiet, unsure if she’d misheard.
