Chapter 109
Mia didn’t bother saying anything to her sisters and mother about attending the unicorn.
Nope.
She will like to see the look on their faces when they find out. Especially Lily.
She’s really looking forward to seeing her there.
She has been daydreaming about the party and her outfit more and more as day draws closer
The day of the unicorn party was finally here.
Mia lay in bed, her heart already beating faster than usual.
A part of her still couldn’t believe this was really happening.
She will be going to the unicorn party and she will be going with Alex Blackwell.
The same man who once looked too untouchable to even say hi to. Now he calls her “baby” and kisses her like she was his whole world.
Her phone buzzed gently beside her. She reached for it, rubbing her tired eyes as she squinted at the screen. A message lit
“Good morning, beautiful. I sent someone to come pick you up. You’re getting the full treatment today. I’ll see you at the party. I love you.”
Mia let out a quiet laugh, her stomach fluttering. The full treatment? She rolled onto her back, staring at the ceiling, thinking about how insane this all was.
A few months ago, she couldn’t even imagine being near someone like Alex, let alone being his girlfriend. Let alone being treated like this.
Now she’s going to the freaking unicorn party as his date?
She glanced at the clock. She had nothing else to do today-no shifts,no errands. Just this party.
She smirks as she hears her sister’s voice screaming in the house. She’s of course getting ready.
She stood up and got ready to leave the house.
The living room was a mess.
“You’ve been inside since and you didn’t come out to help your sister? Do you know how important today is for your sister” Their mom says, pointing a needle at her
Mia has no idea what she was sewing.
“Go arrange-”
“I’m going out mom” Mia cuts in.

“Going out to where? Did you not hear what I said-”
“Mom I’ll see you later, Lily have fun” she said smiling as she ran out of the house ignoring the shout of her name.
Few minutes later, a sleek black SUV pulled up outside her house. Not a beat-up taxi or a bike man honking impatiently at the gate. This car was glossy, expensive-looking, and silent.
She peeked through the curtain. The driver in a black suit stepped out and walked up to the front door like he was on an important missions.
“Mia?” he asked politely when she opened the door.
She blinked. “Uh… yeah?”
“I’m here to escort you. Mr. Blackwell made all the arrangements. If you’re ready?”
“I guess I am,” she said.
Inside the SUV, she sank into the leather seat, heart still unsure if it should be nervous or excited. The ride was smooth, almost too smooth-it gave her too much time to think.
What if she didn’t fit in? What if she looked stupid? What if she messed something up and embarrassed Alex?
She bit her lip, staring out the window, watching the city blur past. The driver pulled up in front of a high-end salon Mia had never even dared to enter before. The windows were tinted.
Someone opened the car door before she could even reach for the handle.
“Welcome, Miss,” a tall woman in heels said warmly. “We’ve been expecting you.”
Mia followed her inside and nearly lost her breath.
The room looked like something out of a luxury magazine. Crystal chandeliers. White marble floors.
Shelves filled with designer makeup brands she has only seen on YouTube tutorials. A team of people walk around, dressed in all black, moving like they were rehearsed.
“This way,” the woman said, leading her to a private room.
There, Mia was greeted by not one, not two, but at least five people. A hairstylist. A nail technician. A makeup artist. A skin expert. And a wardrobe assistant.
She blinked at them like they were aliens.
“Your dress was delivered earlier by me Blackwell”
Mia nods
One of them laughed kindly. “First time?”
“Uh, yeah.”
“Don’t worry. You’re gonna be a star when we’re done.”
And just like that, they got to work.

Chapter 109
Mia sat as they cleansed her face, gently massaged her skin, filed and painted her nails, and asked her soft questions about what kind of look she liked.
At first, she answered awkwardly, unsure of what she even wanted. But eventually, she relaxed into it. It was hard not to, with how gentle they were. How kind.
Her hair was styled into soft, elegant waves that framed her face like something out of a romantic movie.
Her makeup was light, glowing, but dramatic enough to make her eyes pop. Her lips were colored a soft rose, just enough to make her feel… romantic.
She was given a robe and asked to wait in a separate changing room while they brought in the dress.
When the wardrobe assistant returned and unzipped the bag, Mia gasped.
The dress was beautiful. The kind of dress that moved like water and caught the light every time you shifted.
She slipped into it slowly, afraid she might tear it or somehow ruin the magic. But it fit perfectly. Like it was made for her.
When she stood in front of the mirror, she hardly recognized the girl looking back.
Her hands trembled slightly as she touched her cheek, her curls falling softly around her shoulders, the dress hugging her body in a way that makes her feel seen…
She didn’t look like the Mia that just walked in here few hours ago.
