The Heir And The Servent Started From A Bet novel Chapter 23

Chapter 23

Mia woke up to an empty room, the silence deafening. She stared at the ceiling, trying to gather her scattered memories. Fragments of the previous night flashed through her mind.

Getting arrested, Alex meeting her, taking her to his hotel, drinking… God!

She quickly sat up, her heart racing. She glanced around the room, taking in the beautiful decor. Where was Alex? And how did she end up alone?

She rushed to the mirror, checking her reflection. Her eyes were puffy, her hair disheveled. Mia groaned, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over her.

God! she can’t even remember what happened.

Meanwhile, Alex was in the Blackwell Mansion, sitting with his mother as they watched his brother Julian sleep.

“We need to get him help, Mom,” Alex said, his voice laced with concern. “Therapy, rehab… something.”

Alex suggests again, this is not the first time. His brother needs help, with all the money they have they can’t get him help

His mother’s eyes filled with tears. “I know, Alex. But- your father… You know his stand on this. He says it will ruin our reputation.”

Alex’s jaw clenched in frustration. “We can’t just leave him like this, Mom. Is it until he dies?”.

His mother’s face crumpled, and she buried her face in her hands. “Don’t say that, Alex.”

Alex sighed, feeling helpless. He looked out the window, his mind racing. And then, his mother spoke up.

He wishes there’s something he could do for his brother, he wish he could just say fuck his father and go ahead and do what’s best for his brother.

“I was thinking… Maybe we could find him a nice girl to marry. Someone to settle him down, give him a reason to get better.”

Alex stared at his mother, incredulous. “You’re joking.”

She shook her head, tears streaming down her face. “I’m not, Alex. Maybe if someone shows him love and care… Maybe that will help him. He’s always been so alone.”

“Mom he needs help not a wife”

Her mom sobs as Alex pulls her into a hug

His heart went out to his mother. He pulled her into a tight hug, kissing her forehead.

“Let’s do it Alex, let’s get him a wife. I feel it will help”

Alex nods, not wanting to upset her further.

“We have to talk to him about it first”

“Okay”

Alex sat on the hood of his car, staring out at the beach as the sun dipped below the horizon. The sound of the waves

crashing against the shore was soothing, but it did little to calm the storm inside of him

He lit a cigarette, taking a long drag as he tried to clear his head. It’s been a long time he did this…

The smoke filled his lungs, and he felt a temporary sense of calm wash over him.

But it was short-lived, as his mind began to wander back to his brother.

Julian’s addiction had been a constant source of stress and anxiety for Alex. He felt helpless, watching his brother spiral out of control. And he knew that his father’s refusal to get Julian help was only making things worse.

Alex’s phone rang in the silence. He checked the caller ID

Turner.

He stared at the screen, his gut twisting with annoyance. He ignored the call, blowing smoke into the wind.

A message popped up on his screen. *Thank you for yesterday*.

Another message followed.

*When are we going on our next date?*

Alex’s eyes narrowed. He didn’t want to fucking go on any date with a fucking Turner.

But he had to, for Zoe’s sake.

He sighs as his thoughts drive back to his brother.

His thoughts run through about his brother, how he needed help. Like desperately. His mother’s form of help didn’t look like help at all.

His brother used to be the envy of men and boys in this town. Handsome, smart and charismatic.

And now they have to hide him like he doesn’t exist.

As he sat on the hood of his car, Alex couldn’t help but feel a sense of responsibility for his brother’s condition worsening.

He had been so caught up in his own life, his own problems, that he had neglected Julian.

His phone dinged again. This time, it was Zoe.

*Finally done it, just got fucked, baby It felt so good*

Alex raised an eyebrow, he didn’t feel a spark of jealousy not even one bit. He has no idea what being jealous entails in a relationship.
