THE SUBSTITUTE LUNA (IRIS and DRACO) novel Chapter 18

IRIS.

“Got your tongue tied, little bird?” He crossed his arms across his chest as he asked this with a face devoid of any emotions, and I wondered if I should be terrified or feel exhilarated.

“Alpha… Hi,” it was all I could muster to say.

“Hello, Iris,” he greeted me back, letting out a small smile that made my knees buckle, but before I could pass out from his presence, someone interrupted us.

“Good afternoon, Alpha. I’m glad to see you here. Do you need help? I can assist you.” It was the woman at the counter who had ignored me earlier.

Alpha Draco glanced at her before looking at me again. “Is there anyone assisting you?”

I shook my head.

“Oh, we probably didn’t notice when she entered. There were a lot of customers earlier. I apologize, Miss.”

I wanted to roll my eyes at her, not only because I knew she had purposely ignored me, but because she was smiling too widely and fluttering her lashes at him, and she never did once she looked at me.

“It’s okay, Alpha. I would rather look around alone.” I said. “Besides, I already found what I need.”

It was only then that she looked at me, her smile still wide, but I knew that smile. She wanted me out of here. “We can check more, and I can assist you with my expertise on which lingerie would look better on you.”

“No, thanks. I said, I already know what I want.”

“Oh, but we have new sets that came in yesterday. I suggest that you try…” She was not giving up.

“Enough, Tricia.” Alpha Draco said, and I wanted to growl at him. He knew her personally enough to call her by her first name, and I wondered if she was the woman Liam was talking about.

My eyes darted to the entrance of the boutique and found Liam standing there and looking at us. He discreetly nodded his head without taking his gaze off us.

My insides boiled. I was sure this was the same jealousy I felt when Felicity took him from me.

She was still talking to him when my hand reached for the Alpha’s wrist. “Alpha, let’s go. I changed my mind. It’s too expensive here.”

“This is my shop, Iris. You can buy everything you want.” He said.

My mouth hung open, and before I could say anything, he had already turned to Tricia. “Prepare the VIP dressing room. Iris will try anything she fancies.”

“Of course. And as the manager, I’ll be the one to assist you inside.”

“No need. We can pick up what she wants. I don’t want anyone with us inside.” He said this and turned away from her before standing beside me to check the rack I was looking at. He didn’t even ask for my opinion as he began picking up whatever items he could find before moving on to the next rack.

“Alpha, I think that’s a little too many if I only need one.” I spoke softly as I followed him.

“I don’t like shopping, Iris. If you go ahead and pick up what you want, then I don’t need to stay here longer than I should.” He said without looking at me as he picked up more.

My eyes widened because the last one he picked up was a crotchless thong.
