IRIS.
I stepped back, preparing myself to turn around and run away when I saw his jaw clenching and his Adam’s apple move. His coiled fist tightened, but his eyes remained expressionless.
“Alpha…” I was about to thank him before leaving, but for some reason, instead of saying those words, my feet took me forward. I walked to where he was sitting and sat beside him.
He didn’t say a word, but his coiled fists loosened, and I felt his body relaxing beside mine.
“How old are you?” He asked.
“Twenty-one,” I replied as I hugged my knees and rested my chin on them. “How old are you, Alpha?”
“Twenty-nine.”
“Felicity won’t like it if you take me home,” I told him.
“I bet she won’t…” He answered almost immediately.
My mouth hung open, wanting to ask why he was doing this if he knew his Luna would not agree with it. But I didn’t. Instead, I closed my eyes and hugged my knees tighter.
This was wrong. The last time I trusted someone to take care of me, I got trapped in a marriage from hell.
Aside from that, I ran away from my family because I knew they wanted to kill me. Yet, I agreed to come with him, where Felicity could easily send me back to my stepmother.
I honestly had no idea what Alpha Draco wanted from me. And I didn’t know why I was still here.
My eyes snapped open, and I tilted my head to the side to look at him. “Can you protect me even from my sister?”
He glanced at me, and I saw him swallow. I didn’t take my eyes off him, waiting until I got an answer.
“I won’t let Felicity touch you.”
