The Undead and Unstoppable Apocalyptic Queen novel Chapter 613

613 Theresa’s Secret Move

Theresa worked under Sage’s supervision, officially listed as a mere BRank guardhardly a position of prestige. She wasn’t even trusted with the rank of captain, which suited her just fine.

Still, that came with unexpected advantages. Being forgettable meant no one ever bothered to single her out during roll calls. With Sage’s turning a blind eye, she roamed freely under the guise of routine patrols, slipping through areas most weren’t allowed to linger in.

About time you two showed up!someone snapped, irritation cutting through the air. The loading bay was swamped with crates, and Theresa, alongside Quentin, had strolled in well past schedule.

Every guard looked cut from the same moldblack cap, black mask, black shades, and black outfit from head to toe. The only thing killing the cool factor was the cheaplooking word SECURITYstamped across the back. Otherwise, they could’ve passed for a covert ops unit.

Quentin’s deadlooking zombie eyes didn’t draw any attention here; he fit right in. Move it! Get those crates loaded, now!shouted an Arank security captain, his voice slicing through the clamor of machinery and footsteps.

Theresa surveyed the frenzy before herhundreds of guards hauling and stacking boxes like clockwork. She leaned toward Quentin and murmured, Stay put. I’m heading inside to take a look.

He gave a small nod, but moments after she slipped away, his gaze swept the area blankly. Dozens of identical blackclad guards streamed past, and just like thatshe was gone, swallowed by the sea of shadows.

He stood frozen for a moment, utterly baffled by what was happening. Seriously? How could I lose track of Beautiful?

Then it clicked. He thought back to earlier that dayhow he’d walked into her room, searched high and low, and somehow still missed her standing right there. A slow grin spread across his face. Of course. Another hidden ace up her sleeve. Theresa never stopped surprising him.

Quit daydreaming and move those crates!the security captain snapped. He watched Quentin bending down to lift a crate, completely oblivious to the fact that Theresa had just sauntered away in plain sight— her new ability rendering her invisible even to those who knew her best.

Theresa managed to infiltrate the first workshopa place usually offlimits to anyone outside the production crew. The heavy doors were only opened during dispatch, and even then, guards were ordered to remain outside while trusted staff handled the loading.

But today was different. For once, she had a legitimate reason to walk through those doors without having

to sneak or hide.

The workshop was alive with movement. Men pushed carts, lifted crates, and shouted over the rumble of machinery. This batch was packed with rationscanned meats, vegetables, and compressed biscuits meant for long storage.

She strolled through the rows of workers like a shadow gliding through smoke. Eyes slid right past her, unfocused. Not a single person twitched, turned, or sensed her presence. It was as if she didn’t exist at all.

She didn’t waste a second. She strode straight into the manager’s office, determination written across her face. According to what Sage had told her, he’d personally escorted Tania here. But the moment they arrived, he was quickly dismissed. Whatever happened next had been handled by the trio of managers who ran the place.

If there were any leads, this was where she’d find them. The office was a cramped maze of paperwork. Papers were stacked haphazardly across the desk, spilling over in untidy piles. She began sifting through them quickly, scanning line after line for anything out of the ordinary.

Urgent Production Directive: Expedite food production for the New Divine Academy and the new Divine Institute. Another file showed: Employee Protocol: 1. Continuous observation of workshop personnel

health

She flipped through more pagesprocurement forms, internal notices, staff regulationsbut it was all bureaucratic noise. There wasn’t a single clue worth keeping..

Just as she was about to give up, something caught her eyea slim, battered notebook tucked inside the desk drawer. Her pulse quickened. She pulled it out and flipped it open. It was a work diary.

November 7th. Sunny day. Higherups ordered us to ramp up production again. Everything must be packed and shipped by tomorrow. No room for mistakes.

November 6. Worked late again. Everyone’s running on fumes. No time to breathe, no will to care.

November 5. That annoying b*stard, Sage, turned up alive. Not a single scratch on him. When I heard the Divine Institute went up in flames, I really thought he’d be gone for good. No such luck. What rotten news!Theresa raised a brow.

November 4. Another miserable day sharing space with that b*stard. The way he talks makes my skin crawl. If only he’d drop dead and save us all the headache! She stared at the page for a few seconds, speechless.

Page after page, the entries blurred togethereach one nothing more than another tirade against Sage. Whoever had written this seemed utterly obsessed with despising him.

Theresa arched a brow. Whatever bad blood ran between them must have been deep. Then again, knowing Sage’s cold, calculating nature, it wasn’t exactly shocking that he’d made a few enemies along the

way.

A sudden thought struck her. Her hand darted to the section dated around her aunt’s disappearance, flipping the pages faster now.
