Chapter 108
Linda felt her heart skip a beat. “Sophia, do you mean you want me to go undercover?”
Sophia shook her head. “Not undercover, just stall for time.”
Back then, just one word from Emily and Lucas, without even bothering to verify anything, kicked Linda out of Yadel Group. That was easily the dumbest move he’d ever made.
Now that Yadel Group’s R&D department was facing obstacles, they remembered Linda’s importance and wanted to invite her back. Fat chance.
“Just tell Taylor, if they want you back, Emily’s gotta apologize to you in person herself,” Sophia said, her tone icy. Getting Emily to actually say sorry would be pure torture for her, probably worse than death.
Linda’s eyes darted around mischievously. “Got it, I’ll go help you settle the score right away.”
After all, Emily had humiliated Sophia by making her strip in front of everyone just to prove she was innocent. Time for Linda to make things right and settle the score for her.
Sophia hadn’t actually intended things to go that way. But seeing the indignation burning in Linda’s eyes, she just smiled and shook her head.
Taylor passed Linda’s request on to Lucas, and Lucas totally blew his top. “Who does she think she is? Just some broke nobody, and she actually wanted Emily to apologize to her?” Lucas snapped.
Taylor couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Mr. Westwood wasn’t always such an unreasonable and domineering person. Why had he become so harsh now?‘
“Mr. Westwood, if we want Dr. Lynn back, we’re gonna have to ask Ms. Evans to apologize to her. Otherwise, we’ll have to find someone else,” Taylor said, trying to keep his cool.
At this critical moment, tracking down another regenerative technology specialist for the R&D team felt damn near impossible.
Lucas, of course, didn’t want to put Emily through that. He frowned and asked, “Isn’t there anyone else we can try?”
“Well, there are a few we could try, but we’d have to get a headhunter to reach out. The whole process takes forever, and with the regenerating cream about to drop, time’s not exactly on our side,” Taylor replied.
As soon as he walked out, the secretary called him over to the chairman’s office. Ten minutes later, Lucas got an internal call from Billy, summoning him to the chairman’s office.
“Yadel Group’s been around for over thirty years. We’ve got deep roots. Do you really think anyone could bring us down?”
Lucas scoffed.
“Idiot.” Billy glared at his son, so angry at Lucas’s swollen ego that he could barely see straight. He said, “I don’t care what method you use, but bring Linda back, and Sophie too.”
‘Sophia, this hidden talent, must also return to the R&D department. Otherwise, the progress of our research and development is worrisome,‘ Billy thought.
Lucas rolled his eyes. “Sophia’s just a marketing manager. What good is she to us?”
“You really have no clue about Sophia,” Billy snapped, cutting him off. “Just get them both back.”
“Understood.” Lucas walked out of the chairman’s office after getting ripped into by Billy, but honestly, he couldn’t care less.
