Sophia never really cared about how Linda looked.

It wasn’t that Linda was unattractive–Sophia had simply been too absorbed in her work on the formula for skin regeneration.

It wasn’t until two days ago at lunch, when a bunch of doctors were hanging out together, that Sophia actually took a second look at Linda.

Linda totally froze–she fumbled and knocked her cup, spilling water everywhere.

Sophia, who was right beside her, ended up getting splashed all over and hurried to grab some tissues, trying to mop up the mess.

Sophia caught Linda’s tense and guilty look, but honestly, she didn’t give it much thought back then.

Someone said, “Mr. Westwood has always played the devoted husband online. If it turns out he has an illegitimate daughter, Yadel Group’s stock is probably going to crash hard again.

“Dr. Lynn, you worked at Yadel Group before, right? Have you ever met that supposed daughter?”

With everyone staring at her, Linda got nervous. “I… I’ve never heard anything about Mr. Westwood having an illegitimate daughter. You really can’t trust everything the internet says.”

Nobody saw that coming–Linda suddenly got all righteous, preaching about not spreading rumors, and it instantly killed the mood.

Everyone grabbed their phones, mumbled something about checking their experiment results, and beat a hasty retreat from the lounge.

Sophia finished drying herself off and glanced over at Linda, who was sitting there, totally spaced out.

Sophia had never noticed before that Linda looked anything like the Westwood family, but right then, catching her in profile, it hit her that Linda looked just like Lucas.

Sophia was surprised, thinking she must be seeing things. However, after watching Linda these past couple of days, the more she looked, the more she realized Linda actually resembled Billy.

Therefore, Sophia quietly had someone look into Linda, but before she even got any feedback, the data for the formula for skin regeneration had already come in.

Then Linda gave Sophia a heavy dose of sleeping pills and stole the experimental data.

Annabelle stared at Sophia with wide eyes. “Wait, are you saying Linda is related to Mr. Westwood?”

Sophia answered, “At first, it was just a hunch, but then she gave me those sleeping pills and swiped the experimental data, and that proved I might be right.”

Fortunately, once Sophia started having doubts, she kept a wary eye on Linda and didn’t let her get too close.

Otherwise, Linda could have actually stolen the real experimental data.

Annabelle was dumbstruck. “Seriously? Mr. Westwood is famous for being decent–even his assistants are all guys. He’s been so loyal to Helen, like he doesn’t even see other women. And now you’re telling me he’s got an illegitimate daughter like Linda, huh?”

Honestly, Sophia herself wondered if she’d completely lost it when she knew it.

Everyone knew just how devoted Billy was to Helen.

However, then Sophia thought, ‘If Billy really is that upright, then why could he put up with Lucas‘ every whim?‘

Think about that, she was certain that Billy must have cheated.

“Linda is thirty, two years older than Lucas. Guess who’s the mistress here–Helen or Linda’s mom? The lines are pretty blurry,” Sophia said.

Annabelle gaped in awe. “This is insane. When Linda stood up for you and then got fired by Lucas, they were just putting on a show in front of you, right?”

Sophia shrugged. “I don’t know. Maybe she just didn’t like Lucas and genuinely wanted to help me.”

Sophia didn’t want to paint Linda as the villain. She thought that maybe Linda actually showed her a moment of real kindness.
