Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 135

Linda froze for a moment, her gaze landing on Sophia. She asked, Sophia, after all we’ve been through together, do you really have to wipe me out completely? Are you really going to make sure I’ve got nowhere left?

Sophia’s face was cold as ice as she replied, Dr. Lynn, if it weren’t for our past, I would’ve gone to the police that day.

The whole report to the National Security Bureauthat was Pioneer Institute’s decision, not Sophia’s to make.

Linda let out a soft sigh and shook her head, mumbling, I’m still your sisterinlaw, you know. Do you really have to treat me this coldly?

Sophia snorted, her tone icy as she replied, Lucas doesn’t even matter to mewhy would I care about some wannabe sisterinlaw like you?

Not bothering to spare a glance at Linda, Sophia just said, Annabelle, let’s go.

Without another word, the two of them marched past Linda, leaving her standing awkwardly in their wake.

Linda lingered where she was, her eyes following Sophia and Annabelle until their backs disappeared into the distance. She let out a quiet, bittersweet breath, feeling utterly alone. She muttered, I really did have my own

reasons.

Sophia and Annabelle walked into a boutique, chatting casually as they browsed handbags.

The recognition party is in two days. Are you going to show up?Annabelle asked.

Sophia replied, I can’t get divorced just like that, so there’s no way to avoid the party.

If she really wanted to, she could’ve skipped it.

But truth be told, she was itching to see the drama unfold for Helen.

After all, that lousy ideawanting Sophia to be a babymaking machine for Emily and Lucashad been Helen’s, not hers.

Now, Helen wasn’t the one being forced into anything; she just had to accept her husband’s child from another woman. Sophia was dying to see if Helen could actually put on a brave face and smile through it all.

Annabelle couldn’t help but frown, just thinking about that birthday party and the Evans family’s circus of four.

I’ll hire you two female bodyguards. If anyone tries anything, your bodyguards will take them downno mercy,Annabelle said, her tone fierce.

Sophia couldn’t help but laugh, reaching out to pinch Annabelle’s cheek. She said, Come on, it’s a peaceful worldstop thinking about violence all the time.”

Annabelle pulled Sophia’s hand away, worry clouding her eyes. She said, I’m just afraid David might hit you again like last time.

Sophia caught Annabelle’s concern and gave her a reassuring nod. She said, Okay, I’ll have the bodyguards

with me.

Annabelle finally looked relaxed. She picked up a Birkin and handed it to Sophia. She said, Try it on! It’s stunning, and it’ll totally give you boss vibes.

Sophia took the bag and moved in front of the mirror, with the sales associate right behind her, cagerly introducing the product.

Birkin bags in exotic skins usually had to be preordered, but this one was just stockedfresh off the delivery.

It looks amazing, Sophie. You’ve got to take this to the partyit’s got serious boss energy,Annabelle gushed.

Hearing they needed something for a party, the sales associate quickly brought over a clutch in peacock

green.

Ms. Evans, give this clutch a try. It’s even more suited for a party than the Birkin, the sales associate chimed in.

Annabelle took in the peacockgreen hue and smiled. She said, Let’s buy this one. That fresh, standout green is just perfect for the partyit’ll set exactly the right tone.”

Sophia instantly got what Annabelle was hinting at and couldn’t help but grin.

Can you wrap up both bags for me? And also help me find a gown for the party?Sophia said.

The sales associate ushered Sophia upstairs to browse dresses, and out of all the gowns laid out before her, the black dress caught her eye right away.

While Sophia was trying on the dress in the fitting room, Annabelle’s phone rang.

Annabelle glanced at the caller ID, her brows shooting up in surprise.

Sophia slipped into the dress and was zipping it up when her hair suddenly got tangled in the zipper.

She was all alone in the fitting roomthe sales associate had gone off to fetch some other new dresses.

She fiddled with it for a bit, but her hair just wouldn’t budge. Feeling helpless, she peeked out from behind the curtain and called, Annabelle, I need a rescuemy hair’s totally stuck in the zipper! Can you come help me?

She heard footsteps getting closer and a pang of doubt washed over herno way those could be Annabelle’s. Even with the carpet muffling the noise, Annabelle was wearing chunky heels today, and they sounded different.

Before Sophia could even turn around, someone gently took hold of the zipper and eased it down, while their other hand carefully shielded her hair, like they were scared of hurting her.
