If he wanted to play dumb, she didn’t mind tearing off that facade and exposing the ugly truth.
She had decided to end this marriage.
Upstairs, Helen had been eavesdropping for a while. The moment she heard Sophia call Lucas a jerk, she exploded and came storming down.
“Sophia, what makes you think you’re any better? Ever since you married into this family, it has been nothing but chaos and drama!” Helen shot back.
Sophia glanced up, catching the raw hatred and disgust burning in Helen’s eyes.
She chuckled. “Mrs. Westwood, that’s one heavy accusation–you know I can’t take the blame for that.”
“Isn’t all this chaos in the Westwood family really because Mr. Westwood insisted on claiming his secret love child?” Sophia retorted sharply.
Helen rushed over and raised her hand, aiming a slap right at Sophia’s cheek.
Sophia grabbed her wrist and yanked it away. Helen lost her balance and ended up on the floor.
“This is outrageous! How dare you lay a hand on me? Guards, hold her back! I’m going to teach her to respect her elders!” Helen shrieked.
Helen was about to explode.
But the bodyguards just glanced at Billy, and when he didn’t give any orders, they all just stood there, not moving an inch.
Everyone knew that if Yadel Group was going to survive this crisis, they would need Sophia to come up plan.

Billy frowned. “Help Helen back to her room.”
Helen glared at Billy, scandalized. “First, you won’t let me touch Linda, and now you’re saying I can’t even deal with Sophia?”
Billy said through clenched teeth, “Stuff her mouth and get her back to her room.”
The bodyguards moved fast, each grabbing one of Helen’s arms and hustling her upstairs.
Helen struggled, shrieking and making a scene. “Billy, are you blind? Can’t you see she’s in cahoots with Linda? As if she would ever help you or Yadel Group out of this mess!”
Sophia watched as Helen was dragged upstairs by the bodyguards, her interest finally piqued. With her coffee in hand, she settled in comfortably, ready to watch the drama unfold.
Billy reset his face and scrutinized Sophia. “Did you have Linda planted here?”
“No,” Sophia said.
She didn’t have that kind of ability yet, but she wanted to hear Linda’s story.
“Honestly, I figured she was your spy planted to mess with me. Mr. Westwood, did she end up conning you, too?” Sophia smirked.
Billy’s eye twitched. “Are you being serious right now, or are you just making fun of me?”
Sophia just shrugged. “Sorry, I’ve been out in Ginkgo Town saving the day. It’s basically a black hole for cell service, so I’m totally out of the loop.
“So, since Linda’s part of the Westwood family now, how come I haven’t seen her at all? If she’s not in bed yet, why don’t you ask her to come down so we can catch up?” Sophia said.
Billy’s breath came out heavier with irritation. “Enough with the snark, Sophia.
“You know Yadel Group is under fire right now, and you know well why I called

Seeing Billy finally cut the crap, Sophia said coldly, “I have just one demand–divorce me from Lucas.”
“Fine, I agree!” Billy snapped.
Before Billy could finish speaking, a deep, gruff voice suddenly boomed from the front door.
“I don’t agree!” Lucas shouted.
Sophia glanced up and saw Lucas being helped inside by Emily.
Her heart skipped a beat.
Damn it, why did Lucas have to come back now? He’s going to mess everything up, Sophia thought.
He hobbled in, cane in hand, his face still battered and bruised—those marks hadn’t even begun to fade.
Every step he took made his cane smack against the floor with a harsh, repetitive thud, the noise practically drilling into everyone’s nerves.
“Dad, I won’t agree to a divorce. If I have to tough it out, I’ll make sure she suffers every bit with me,” Lucas
spat.
Lucas glared at Sophia, his eyes burning with pure hatred.
She wants a divorce? No way!‘ Lucas thought.
Sophia felt a chill run through her, but still smirked and gave a slow, sarcastic round of applause. “Nice one, Lucas. About time you showed some backbone.
“Oh, what an honor to be ranked above Yadel Group this time. If you’d gotten your priorities straight two
months ago, maybe we wouldn’t be tearing each other apart like this,” she said.
