Richard handed her a bottle of water, his eyes deep and unreadable. No, you were actually pretty cute.”

Sophia thought to herself, Cute? After what I just did? Yeah, rightmore like a total mess.

She accepted the bottle and took a few calming sips, trying to steady her nerves.

Once she’d caught her breath, she glanced at her watchit was already past nine.

The park was dead quiet. Almost all the visitors had already left.

Sophia had pretty much had her fill of fun. Mr. Sterling, is there anything else you want to do?she asked.

There’s somewhere I want to go,Richard said.

Alright, let’s head over,” Sophia replied.

The lights in the park were pretty dim, and all along both sides of the Harry Potter area were small shops.

The windows were packed with colorful, playful displayseverything looked like it was straight out of a kid’s

dream.

Sophia spotted an ice cream shop shaped like a castle and said, Mr. Sterling, wait here for a sec.

With that, she dashed over to get two ice cream cones and hurried back to Richard.

Mr. Sterling, I bet you’ve never had ice cream this cute in your whole life, huh?she teased.

The cones were shaped like little Minionsyeah, that was definitely a first for him.

Richard chuckled, “When I was a kid, there were no Minions. We watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

Sophia had never actually watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but one year, her school held a cultural festival and some upperclassmen performed a skit about them.

She flashed a playful smile and asked, Mr. Sterling, how many turtles do you like?

Richard didn’t catch the jokehe thought she was asking, How many kids do you want?He hesitated for a moment, seriously considering his answer.

With the same seriousness he’d use signing a billiondollar contract, Richard said, There are three brothers in my family, and we’re all pretty close. If my future partner is up for having kids, having both a boy and a girl would make for the perfect family.”

Sophia licked her ice cream, her smile suddenly stiff on her lips.

When she glanced up, she saw Richard watching her expectantly. But honestly, if she doesn’t want kids, living without kids is fine with me too.

Chapter 211

Sophia just stood there, at a total lost for words

Hold on, why are you looking at me when you talk about having kids? It’s not like you’re gonna have them with me, she thought, feeling a bit awkward and secretly amused.

Any girl who gets to marry you must be incredibly lucky, Sophia said.

Families like the Sterlings usually wanted as many heirs as possible, yet Richard was totally chill about never having any kids.

What about you, Sophia? Would you rather have a boy or a girl?Richard asked with a curious smile.

Sophia looked ahead at the eveninglit street and replied, I’d love to have a daughter. That way, next time we come to Universal Studios, we could dress up in wizard robes together and snap some adorable photos

Honestly, ever since they walked into the park, Sophia couldn’t help but stare at all the girls twirling around in their wizard robes. The whole scene made her heart melt.

But then she glanced at Richardthe classic big boss type. Just getting him to hang out with her at a theme park was already pushing it; expecting him to dress up in a wizard robe? No way that was happening,

That would totally wreck his big boss image.

A scene popped into Richard’s head, making the corners of his mouth tilt up. I’d love to have a daughter too, especially if she could be like

Richard was this close to blurting out you,but at the very last second, he swallowed the word down

Sophia cocked her head at him, playful curiosity in her eyes. Like what?” she asked, smiling

Richard came to an abrupt halt, and seeing that, Sophia stopped too, a little confused.

They stood under the streetlights, the night all hush and quiet. The Minion statue beside them made everything feel extra playful.

They held each other’s gaze, and in that silence, it was almost like something sparkly and sweet was hanging in the air.

Sophia’s heart was pounding so wildly it almost hurt, bumping strongly and fast against her chest.

Richard suddenly reached out his hand toward her.

Sophia froze for a split second, too surprised to duck away, a slight shiver running through her.

Her lips, which had been slightly parted, snapped shut instantly as Richard’s fingertip gently traced the corner of her mouth, and she could feel heat spreading from where he touched her.
