Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 217

Chapter 217

She kept quiet, walked over to Emily, and gave her a refill. Emmy, is it cool if I call you that?

Emily nearly rolled her eyes, but managed a pictureperfect smile. Of course, Sophia.

We’ve had a lot of misunderstandings in the past, and I’ll admitI always felt kind of guilty about it.

But since Lucas and I are about to split, I sincerely wish you two get your happy ending together,Sophia said, her tone light and teasing.

Emily’s expression twitched, her fake smile barely holding up. Sophia, I swearI’ve never tried to destroy your marriage.

I know,Sophia said, cutting Emily off and heading straight for Kael.

She poured Kael a hefty glass of wine.

Mr. Everhart, you’re the only nonfamily member at my dad’s birthday dinner tonight. That must mean you’re really something to the Evans family.

Thanks for coming to celebratethis one’s for you,” Sophia said.

She raised her glass, giving everyone at the table a meaningful look as she clinked glasses all around.

She said, Sometimes you just can’t put feelings into wordsso let’s put it all in the wine. Come on, everyone, bottoms up!

With that, she took the lead and finished her glass in one bold gulp.

Seeing her go all in, the other five followed her exampleno one wanted to lose face, and they all emptied their cups right away.

Besides, the wine hadn’t actually been spikedit was only Sophia’s glass that had been messed with.

Her glass had been soaking in something nasty way before dinner; the more she drank, the quicker the stuff would kick in.

Now all they had to do was sit back and wait. Soon enough, Sophia would totally lose control and embarrass herself in front of everyone.

Sophia didn’t miss the plotting glances the five were giving her.

After polishing off her drink, she pretended to be buzzedholding her head, swaying on her feet. I’m feeling kind of dizzy. I need to go to the bathroom, she said.

She didn’t give anyone a chance to stop her, stumbling away toward the restroom.

As soon as Sophia left, David gave Kael a sly nod and a look, practically spelling it out: Go on, she’s waiting for you.

Kael could feel the heat surging through his veinshis whole body was on fire, crazed and restless from whatever they’d slipped him.

Without a second thought, he sprang to his feet and rushed after Sophia.

Now it was just Charles and his three kids at the table. Emily poured herself another glass of wine, sipping at it slowly.

Emily leaned in, lowering her voice. Hey, David, do you think they’re already hooking up in the bathroom?

The thought made her mouth go dryEmily almost felt a bit feverish just imagining it.

She took another couple of gulps of wine, trying to calm the strange heat swirling inside her, but the feeling just kept getting stronger.

David glanced at her with a look that was too heated, almost unnatural. Uh, yeah, guess so.

Charles tugged at his collar, feeling the heat crawling under his skin. ‘Why am I suddenly so damn hot? he wondered, shifting uncomfortably in his seat.

He hadn’t had sex with Margaret in ages, but tonight, seeing her, even though she was well past her prime, he couldn’t help but notice how her mature charm was still there.

This is weird. Why’s it so warm? I’m actually breaking a sweat,Margaret muttered, fanning herself with her hand, trying and failing to cool down.

Their eyes suddenly met across the table, and for a split second, that old, fiery feeling flashed between them.

It was like the kind of desire they hadn’t felt since they were much younger.

Margaret quickly looked away, cheeks burning. II’ll just go shower. You guys keep eating, she said, excusing herself in a fluster, barely meeting anyone’s gaze.

She left, and barely two minutes later, Charles couldn’t hold out anymorehe found some excuse and slipped upstairs.

Once their parents were gone, David couldn’t hold himself back any longer. His eyes were blazing as he grabbed Emily and pulled her tightly into his arms.

Emily, I’m burning up. Help me, please,David said, his voice rough and desperate.

Emily gave in completelythe last bit of reason vanishedand soon they were wrapped up in a feverish kiss.

Outside the firstfloor bathroom, the bodyguard knocked Kael out cold with a swift, practiced move. Then he turned to Sophia and asked, “Ms. Evans, what do you want us to do next?

Sophia’s eyes were sharp and completely sober. She glanced down at Kael sprawled on the ground, a faint, sardonic grin playing on her lips.

Since he’s got such a thing for married women, might as well send him straight to Charles’s room,Sophia said, her voice icy and laced with wicked amusement.
