Chapter 218
The bodyguard looked down at the one–eyed man lying there and couldn’t helps hung
‘Serves him right for trying to chase after someone way but of his league. fus he’s by A Charles–exactly what he deserves, the bodyguard thought.
The bodyguard Sophia brought was built like a tank. He hauled Kart over has thedder ordenly
Sophia led the way and stopped outside Charles and Margaret’s room.
Inside, all those steamy noises were spilling out–Sophia couldn’t help cringing hard as her ears caught sound.
She shot the bodyguard a look, and he nudged the door open with his foot just enough to peek insie
Kael was jolted awake by another wave of pain.
He groggily scrambled to his feet, feeling like his whole body was burning up–absolute agony.
He tugged at his clothes as he made his way inside, barely keeping his footing
Sophia felt like just standing up here any longer would corrupt her soul.
Not wanting to get any more tainted than she already was, she headed downstairs with the bodyguard in tow
After waiting until she figured the timing was perfect, Sophia sent the bodyguard over to get some video footage.
Meanwhile, Sophia walked out of the villa, the night calm under a bright moon with just a few stars out. Her phone rang–it was Annabelle.
“Sophie, you’re such a bad friend! How could you not let me watch all the action in person tonight?” Annabelle grumbled.
Hearing her complaint, Sophia said, “Girl, it’s seriously R–rated tonight. You do not want those images stuck in your head.”
“Why suffer alone when we can cringe together?” Annabelle shot back, bored out of her mind and desperate for some excitement.
Sophia walked over to the swing set and sat down, lightly kicking off and swaying as she said, “It’s all over
now.”
Annabelle groaned in disappointment. “Next time there’s drama like this, you have to let me be there!”
“Alright,” she replied.
After she hung up, Sophia spent the whole night on the swing, gently swaying until the first light crept across

the sky. She stifled a yawn.
At last, the villa came alive with sound.
A man’s thunderous roar shattered the morning calm, scattering the flock of birds perched outside the
window.
The birds took flight in a flurry of wings, and the man’s angry shouts mixed with a woman’s piercing so filled the villa.
With all the racket blasting from the villa, Sophia’s sleepiness had vanished—no way she was catching any more Z’s after that.
She gave her stiff arms a good stretch and slowly headed back inside the villa.
Downstairs in the living room, Emily rushed to gather her scattered clothes and hurriedly tried to get
dressed.
Meanwhile, David was busy pulling up his pants.
‘I can usually control my desire for Emily, but last night? What the hell happened to us? David thought, still in shock that they’d gone and done something so reckless.
Emily was frantically racing to get dressed, and had just gotten her underwear on when she spotted Sophia coming in from outside.
She screamed, shrinking back into the couch and grabbing a pillow to cover herself.
“Sophia, what are you doing here? Weren’t you supposed to-” Emily started, but suddenly cut herself off.
She shot a quick look at David, then back at Sophia, and realization finally dawned on her.
Emily suddenly shouted, “Did you drug us?”
Sophia made no move to come closer–the living room stank so badly from last night’s madness it nearly made her retch.
She crossed her arms and leaned back against the cabinet, totally relaxed, watching with a smug satisfaction as panic turned into realization on Emily’s face.
“W w, aren’t you a piece of work. Weren’t you two the ones plotting to drug me?
“So how’d you both end up getting hit by your own scheme?” Sophia shot back with an amused smirk.
Sophia was practically beaming with glee. “Karma’s a real bitch, huh? Maybe next time, don’t try any of those shady little schemes on someone else!”
That’s when David finally realized what was going on.
‘So that’s why I totally lost control last night. Damn it, Sophia set us up!‘ David seethed inwardly.

But he’d been secretly in love with Emily for years, always pretending to be just her brother…
Now that he’d finally been with her, his heart was torn between exhilaration and guilt–so messed up inside, he could hardly look himself in the mirror.
David glared at Sophia, his temper flaring. “Wow, you really know how to play dirty, huh?”
“Oh, I know all about those dirty tricks–that’s exactly why I turned the tables on you,” Sophia shot back with a mischievous smirk.
“So, David, how does it feel having your wish granted at last? Shouldn’t you be coughing up a huge reward as a thank–you?” she added.
