Chapter 219

Chapter 219

YouDavid sputtered, too furious to finish.

Her cocky smirk was like a slap in the face to David. How come she got off scotfree last night? he seethed.

Sophia flashed a bright, breezy smile. Well, well, looks like the Evans family’s got a real party going on!

But hey, sounds like Mom and Dad are having quite the fight upstairs. You sure you don’t want to go check it out?

David could hear all the shouting, crying, and cursing coming from upstairs. He quickly finished buttoning his shirt and hurried up the stairs.

As soon as David left, the servantswho’d been dying to catch some dramapopped out from every corner.

They eyed up Emily in her disheveled state, pointing fingers and whispering behind their hands.

Blood relatives or not, how could they just fool around like that in front of everyone?one of them hissed.

Yeah, that’s so gross!another threw in.

Emily could hardly look more mortified as she overheard the servants gossiping about her, her face turning very pale.

She glared daggers at Sophia. So you finally got what you wanted, huh? You drugged usis this your idea of satisfaction?

Maybe check who was plotting first before you go acting all innocent. Quit pretending to be the victim,Sophia retorted.

Weren’t you acting all high and mighty last night, pushing that drink on me?Sophia thought, her eyes full of mockery.

So it’s fine for you guys to plot and trash my name, but I’m supposed to just sit and take it? Now that you’re the ones getting burned, suddenly it hurts, huh?Sophia shot back.

Honestly, their schemes were way nastier than anything she’d ever pulledby a long shot.

If she’d really wanted to be cruel, Sophia could’ve let Kael mess with both Emily and Margaret. Honestly, she was letting them off easy.

Emily’s face turned bright red with anger. You just can’t stand seeing me do well, can you? Ruining my life is the only way you’ll ever feel satisfied!

Don’t act innocentyou’re the toxic one here, so who else is there to blame?Sophia fired back.

Sophia rolled her eyes, not about to waste another breath. There was way juicier drama happening upstairs, and she had frontrow seats waiting.

She straightened up and headed upstairs.

Sophia got to Charles and Margaret’s door, and inside, all hell had broken looseCharles and Kael were already brawling like rabid dogs.

Kael was in peak shape; Charles was way out of his league, not even close.

His wife hooked up with another man right under his nose, and Charles felt utterly humiliated. He just couldn’t swallow that insult.

Unfortunately for him, Charles couldn’t fight to save his life.

The second he swung, Kael pinned him down and beat him like a drum, leaving Charles face down and hunting for his missing teeth.

David charged in, booted Kael away from Charles, then jumped on him, pounding his fists down like a hailstorm.

Kael was getting his ass handed to him at first, but it didn’t take long before he turned the tables and pinned David to the ground.

The two were tangled up, swinging punches and grappling like a couple of rabid beasts.

By the time Sophia got to the door, the room looked like a battlefield. She lounged against the doorframe, a huge grin on her face, totally enjoying the mayhem.

Go on, tear each other to shredslet’s see you mangy mutts rip out every last bit of fur, Sophia thought, deeply amused.

Kael was so furious he could kill someoneevery time he remembered hooking up with that decrepit old woman last night, he felt so sick he could throw up.

This whole family is nothing but con artists!Kael fumed.

They swore they’d deliver Sophia to my bed, but in the end, they shoved some ancient witch on me to mess with me and ruin my night.

My whole life’s reputation went up in smoke because of your damn family! You bastards, nothing but a pack of crooks and liars!Kael roared, his voice shaking with rage.

The more Kael stewed on it, the angrier he gothis punches flying faster, desperate to mash David’s head into a bloody pulp.

Margaret had just been crying at first, but the moment she saw her son getting pummeled without fighting back, she lunged forward, frantically trying to yank Kael away.

Stop it!Margaret yelled.

The moment Kael laid eyes on her, his fury ignited. He shoved Margaret hard, knocking her back so that her forehead smashed against the dresser’s corner.

Margaret’s vision went dark, and a piercing ringing buzzed in her earsshe was on the verge of blacking out.

Sophia saw that the chaos was reaching its peakone more minute of this and someone was seriously going to get hurt, or worse.

She finally walked in, clapping sarcastically. Well, well, what a drama! This has been pure entertainment for me.
