Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 231

Sophia noticed the reddish veins in his eyes and suddenly remembered—wait, wasn't this his bedroom?

‘Honestly, it feels like | totally invaded his space, she mused, the awkwardness creeping in.

"Sorry about last night. | had way too much to drink and completely hijacked your bed," Sophia said, embarrassed.

"Don't worry about it. | was the one who carried you in,” Richard replied, moving to stand beside her. Realizing only then, he saw she'd been staring at the family portrait on the wall.

Sophia's cheeks flushed a little. "Were you at Kazuwa House last night, too?"

Sophia thought to herself, ‘lf he wasn't there, how else would | have ended up at his place?’

Richard nodded. "Yeah. You and the heir of the Nelson Group seemed to hit it off pretty well, huh?"

Sophia blinked, a little caught off guard. "We just got along, that's all."

"Oh, really?" Richard said, his voice tinged with jealousy, unable to hide how he felt.

For once, Sophia didn't know what to say.

The vibe turned tense all of a sudden.

She stared up at the family photo instead, avoiding his eyes.

Richard glanced at the portrait too, following her gaze.

Sophia finally broke the silence. "| always thought someone with your kind of status wouldn't have family photos up in their bedroom."

Richard raised an eyebrow. "People like us? What exactly do you mean by that?"

"Well, you're not exactly ordinary, you know." Noticing that Richard looked a bit annoyed, Sophia quickly changed the subject.

“Is that your mom? She's beautiful—with that graceful, refined look you see in gentle beauties,” Sophia said.

When the photo was taken, Richard's mom must've been well into her sixties, yet she looked absolutely ageless and elegant.

She was the very picture of timeless beauty.

Richard nodded. "Yeah, that's my mom."

“You and Edward look more like your mom, but your eldest brother—he takes after Mr. Sterling,’ Sophia said.

Richard replied, "Yeah, that's my eldest brother."

Sophia took a closer look at William's face—his features were sharp and rugged, as if he'd spent years dealing with tough situations.

‘Seriously, | passed out and hogged Richard's bed all night—how mortifying; she thought, cheeks burning a little.

"I'll go wash up,’ she mumbled, still a bit flustered.

"See you in a bit,” Richard replied.

"See you in a bit,’ Sophia said with an awkward smile.

Sophia went to the guest room to wash up. Richard had planned for everything—even a fresh change of clothes was waiting for her.

She had just stepped out of the bathroom when there was a knock at the door, and one of the maids came in, carrying a full set of skincare products.

"Ms. Evans, Mr. Sterling asked me to deliver these for you,” the maid said politely.

Sophia quickly accepted them, realizing it was the same brand Richard had picked out for her back when she was staying at the Sterling residence to recover.

"Thank you,” Sophia said.

"You're welcome, Ms. Evans. Honestly, I've never seen Mr. Sterling go out of his way for anyone like this before.

"You're really lucky—good things are definitely coming your way,” the maid said with a knowing smile.
