Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 233

Sophia felt a shiver run down her spine, a sudden surge of electricity that left her tingling all over.

‘This was just too close for comfort; she thought, her pulse quickening.

Without thinking, she took a step back—completely forgetting they were still on the staircase.

Her foot missed the step, and she started to fall backward.

Richard's heart nearly stopped. He lunged forward, grabbing her arm and yanking her back just in time.

Sophia crashed right into his arms, and he caught her, steadying her with a firm grip around her waist.

Her face flushed bright red.

Once she was steady, she quickly pulled away, flustered. "Sorry, | didn't mean to," she said.

Richard was wearing a crisp white shirt, his suit jacket left unbuttoned.

When Sophia crashed into him, she left a perfect lipstick imprint right on his chest.

Now, that lipstick mark was impossible to miss.

Sophia grew more embarrassed the longer she looked, almost reaching out to wipe it off, but thought better of it.

"Maybe you should go upstairs and change your shirt?" she suggested, her voice a little shaky.

Richard glanced down and saw the lipstick mark, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

"It's no big deal. I'll just button up my blazer and no one'll even see it,’

Richard said.

He did exactly that, and sure enough, the lipstick stain vanished from sight.

Sophia just froze.

She almost blurted out, "Seriously, it's boiling outside. You can't walk around with your jacket buttoned all day—you'll fry!”

But seeing how unfazed he was, she just let it slide.

When they got downstairs, breakfast was already served. After they ate together, Richard dropped Sophia off at Pioneer Institute.

With the formula for skin regeneration finally wrapped up, Sophia had a whole stack of research projects waiting for her.

The car was parked outside the industrial park.

Sophia thanked Richard, opened the door, and stepped out. Richard kept watching until her figure vanished into the industrial park, then told the driver to go.

Harley just shot them a knowing, mysterious smile. "There is someone—and trust me, she's really got Mr. Sterling hooked."

"Who is she? Is she pretty? Is she as stunning as Ms. Holleran?"

another secretary pressed, her curiosity barely contained.

Harley shook her head slowly at the mention of Nancy Holleran.

"They're not the same type at all."

Nancy got that bombshell vibe—hot, flashy, and super confident. She was the kind of girl everyone noticed when she walked by.

But Sophia had that sweet, adorable look—the soft kind that made one just want to protect her.

“Enough with the gossip. Since Mr. Sterling's in such a good mood today, if you've got any messed-up tasks or failed assignments, now's your chance to come clean," Harley said.

Everyone scattered in a flash, grabbing their unfinished work and lining up to report to Richard.

Richard was in such a good mood that even after hearing nothing but bad news, he kept his cool and didn't lose his temper.

Once they had all finished reporting, he pressed the intercom and called for Harley. "I need you to handle something for me."
