Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 261

Sophia knew Emily wouldn't leave without a fight, so she didn't bother wasting her breath.

She was just waiting to see what kind of scheme Emily was cooking up.

Annabelle grabbed some bug spray and started spraying it all over

Emily. "Take this, you drama queen!"

Emily shrieked and dodged behind Richard. "Annabelle, you're playing dirty!

Annabelle kept spraying while making taunting raspberry noises.

"Like I need to play fair with you? Time to roll up my sleeves and throw down!"

Richard saw Emily heading his way and, just as she tried to throw herself at him, he casually sidestepped out of reach.

Emily had planned to dive straight into Richard's arms—no way did she think he'd actually dodge.

Off balance, she toppled to the ground with an awkward thud.

Annabelle just stood there, stunned for a moment, then burst out laughing, clutching her stomach. "Girl, you're killing me! Seriously?

You were trying to throw yourself at my uncle from halfway across the room-like some kind of damsel move-and thank goodness he dodged quickly!"

Sophia turned around and saw Emily still sprawled on the ground, not moving for ages.

She couldn't help but laugh and mocked, "Ms. Evans, what's up?

Did your bones turn to glass, or did you just age a few decades?"

Emily seethed with humiliation and fury, wishing she could smack Annabelle silly right then and there.

Her chest dug into the rough grass, and the weeds poked uncomfortably at her neck.

She raised her head and shot Richard those flawless puppy eyes, reaching her hand out to him pitifully.

"Mr. Sterling, could you help me up? I think I tweaked my back," she said in her softest, most fragile voice.

Richard didn't even react; he just glanced at Annabelle.

Annabelle immediately understood the implication and, helping Emily up while mocking her, said, "I advise you not to set your sights on my uncle. Go find a mirror and take a good look at yourself. See if you're even worthy."

Emily was so pissed that she clenched her teeth so hard it felt like they might crack.

'Just you wait, Emily thought viciously. 'Tonight, once I make Richard mine, I'll have Annabelle admit that I was Richard's wife.'

"Ms. Quinn, I know you can't stand me, but do you have to tear me down like this? Mr. Sterling, aren't you going to defend me?" Emily whined, putting on her most pitiful act.

Richard just watched with icy detachment. "Whatever's going on between you two, settle it yourselves."

Seeing the cold, indifferent look on Richard's face, Emily clenched her jaw in silent frustration and forced herself up from the ground

Mr. Sterling, you're so fair! I just adore that you never play favorites," she gushed, laying on the sweetness extra thick.

Annabelle made a gagging sound.
