Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 74

Sophia felt her worries case up a little, soothed by Daisy’s sunny attitude.

As Daisy left the room, Sophia relaxed back against the headboard and waited for the spaghetti.

After what felt like forever, there was a polite knock at the door, and it swung open.

Sophia looked up to see Richard walking in, carrying a tray.

“Daisy’s kid ran into something at school, so she asked me to bring your spaghetti up instead, he explained.

Sophia couldn’t help but notice that around her, Richard actually talked more than she’d ever expected from someone as

reserved as he.

“Sorry for the trouble,” she said.

As she tried to get out of bed, Richard quickly intervened.

“Just stay put and don’t move,” he said.

If she ended up sweating all over again, she’d be stuck dealing with it alone–no one left to help her change into fresh pajamas this time.

Sophia didn’t know what to say.

She saw Richard sitting at the edge of the bed, holding a bowl in one hand and a fork in the other.

In the warm glow of the lamp, his fingers looked ridiculously perfect–long and elegant, with sharp joints that could make even a casual hand enthusiast totally spellbound.

“Want me to feed you, or do you feel up to handling it yourself?” Richard asked.

“I can handle it myself,” Sophia replied quickly.

She thought, ‘No way I’d dare trouble the mighty Mr. Sterling by having him feed me. His elegant hands are made for commanding Wallinton, not wasting time on someone like me.‘

Richard handed her the fork, bringing the bowl right up to her lips. “Here you go. Be careful, it’s hot.”

Sophia didn’t know what to say.

She thought, ‘Does he seriously not get how intense his vibe is? Just sitting here is enough to freak me out, and now he’s holding the bowl for me, watching me eat? I can’t eat it at all.’

Noticing Sophia wasn’t moving, Richard arched an eyebrow and said, “Want me to feed you?”

Sophia was speechless.

It was said that when it came to all the human desires, hunger always demanded to be satisfied first.

With her stomach nice and full, Sophia was completely content. She finished every bit of the spaghetti.

Richard watched, a hint of amusement in his eyes, as she licked the last drops of sauce from her lips–just like a little cat hiding all traces after a sneaky feast.

A faint smile tugged at his lips. To his surprise, she seemed unexpectedly adorable.

Suddenly, Richard found himself thinking–maybe looking after her like a daughter wouldn’t be so bad.

Richard took the fork from her, switched off the bright overhead light, and turned the wall lamp down to a cozy, sleep- friendly glow.

“Get some sleep,” Richard said gently.

His deep, soothing voice almost hypnotized her. Sleepiness settled over Sophia, heavy and irresistible.

As his footsteps faded into the distance, Sophia sank quickly into a deep, dark sleep.

Two weeks later, Sophia was pretty much healed up and back to her usual self. After staying at the Sterling residence for so long, she figured it was time to leave.
