Too Late She Already Married Mr. Right (Sophia) novel Chapter 79

The car rolled slowly into Cherry Grove. When the door opened, David got out. He saw Sophia still sitting there, doing nothing, so he reached in and roughly pulled her out by the arm.

Sophia stumbled, her back hitting the door, her face going pale from the pain. She shrugged off David’s hold and stared at him blankly.

David felt a shiver run down his spine under her gaze, irritation bubbling within him. “Keep looking at me like that, and I’ll tear your eyes apart.”

Sophia smirked a little, sarcastically. She thought, ‘Is this what family is supposed to be? Do they really want me back?‘

David seethed inside, yet remembering the reason they had come to the Westwood residence, he warned, “Sophia, keep a low profile when you meet the Westwood family. If they grow any grudge against the Evans family because of you, there’ll be consequences.”

He said no more and headed toward the house.

Sophia held back her feelings and followed him slowly, her gaze lingering on the thick hair at the back of David’s head. She squinted, seemingly pondering something.

All three members of the Westwood family were waiting for them in the living room.

Lucas, dressed in all–black clothes, sat beside Helen. His face was unscathed, showing no sign of the beating he’d received. Apparently, Richard’s men had avoided hitting him in the face.

When he saw her enter, Lucas snorted and turned his head aside. He expected her to scurry over like she had as a child, ready to apologize.

Billy and Helen both wore grim expressions, especially Helen, who snapped, “I thought you weren’t coming back.”

Though David had been arrogant in front of Sophia, he toned it down around the Westwood family, forcing a smile. “Mr. Westwood, Mrs. Westwood, I’ve brought Sophia back. You can ask her anything you want. Just don’t be mad at Emily.”

Sophia sneered and thought, ‘Well, thank you, David.

The Westwood family didn’t offer them seats, clearly still angry.

Sophia didn’t care. She picked a seat farthest from the three of them and started scrolling on her phone.

Billy frowned. “Sophia, is this how you say sorry?”

Sophia didn’t even lift her head, completely ignoring them.

Back then, to please Lucas, Sophia had humbled herself before the Westwood family, always doing what they wanted. Even though they had never truly accepted her, she bore no resentment.

Now, she would no longer sacrifice herself to please those who meant nothing to her.

From the moment Sophia entered, Lucas had expected her to burst into tears and beg for his forgiveness. Instead, he found her absorbed in her phone, paying him no mind at all.

Fury burned within him. He said, “Sophia, stop putting on that attitude. You’re the one who’s supposed to apologize to me.”

Annoyed by his shouting, Sophia scratched her car. “Really? Then can I leave now?”

Helen was furious. “A typical small–town girl. She knows no manners at all.”

These words were a deep humiliation for the Evans family.

David remained standing, since the Westwood family hadn’t offered him a seat. He didn’t dare sit as freely as Sophia.

He gritted his teeth in anger, thinking, ‘Does Sophia not care about the Evans family at all? The Westwood family is clearly humiliating us.”

Sure enough, Billy sneered with disdain. He grew increasingly convinced of David’s narrow–mindedness, believing that a man who degraded one sister to protect another was hardly a good person.

Billy sat with a commanding presence, exuding the aura of a person in power. He fixed Sophia with a piercing gaze. “Are you sure you want a divorce?”

Lucas was frantic. “Dad. Don’t listen to her.”

“Shut up,” Billy said sharply. He turned to Sophia. “Sophia, do you know that no member of the Westwood family has ever

divorced?”

Sophia squinted, thinking. What does he mean? Is he hinting that he doesn’t agree?‘

She said, “Mr. Westwood, I believe you’ve noticed that Lucas and I do not love each other. If we continue living this hopeless life, we might start tormenting each other or even kill each other.”

Billy let out a low chuckle. “You young people often say that with enough effort, nothing is impossible. I believe that after this incident, Lucas will value you and your feelings even more.”

Billy didn’t even glance at anyone else. He fixed Lucas with a sharp gaze. “Lucas, apologize to your wife. From now on, you must respect each other, and this can’t happen again.”

Helen widened her eyes, staring at Billy in disbelief. “Is that all?”

“They’re married. This is just a minor quarrel between them. Do you have a problem with that?” Billy’s expression darkened.

“They have to get a divorce.” The thought of Lucas being injured by Sophia’s lover made Helen unable to tolerate seeing Sophia as her daughter–in–law any longer.

She felt the only way to settle this was for them to get a divorce.
