Chapter 24 It’s Damian
Everyone except Beatrice was taken aback.
This was yet another unexpected twist..
In the restaurant of the Peninsula Hotel, Damian lingered at his table even after finishing his meal.
His gaze was glued to his phone, absorbed in whatever he was watching. After a moment, he chuckled softly, his voice smooth and clear. “She’s got guts.”
Killian, standing right beside him, was also highly intrigued and gave a fair comment. “Better than any TV drama. She’s got both courage and brains.”
“TV shows are just acting. She’s fighting for her life,” Damian said casually.
After watching for another moment, he put away his phone, got up, and walked away.
In the elevator, Killian had already pressed the button for the
basement floor when Damian asked, “Since it’s getting so interesting, want to watch it live?”
Killian blinked. “…Yeah, sure.”
Chapter 24 H’s Damian
As if he had any choice in the matter.
In the hall, Autumn gazed at Madeline with astonishment and disbelief.
She never expected that Madeline would put all the blame on her.
“No, that’s not what happened!” she blurted out, her voice shaking.
“I didn’t force her to do anything! She told me she had a plan to “I didn’t force her
make Beatrice sign the settlement papers, so yeah, I helped get
Beatrice to the hotel. But I swear, I had no idea she’d do something so horrible! I thought she was just going to scare her into signing- that’s all I wanted!”
But her words also proved that she was in collusion.
Over there, Madeline retorted in tears, “Mrs. Autumn Belmont, how could you frame me? You complained to me that Beatrice was being greedy, upping the price from 100 million dollars to 150 million dollars. I helped you because I felt sorry for you and Desmond! You said you were worried that Desmond would hate you, so you asked. me to contact those people!”
Autumn’s fingers trembled with anger. “Y–You are talking nonsense!”
“I’m not talking nonsense, Mrs. Autumn Belmont. For the future of me and Desmond, just accept the reality.”

Autumn was speechless. She almost fainted and died of a heart attack.
The Fairfax family closed ranks, all of them jumping to Madeline’s defense. One after another, they pointed fingers at Autumn, claiming she was trying to drag their precious Madeline’s name through the mud.
Just like that, they dumped all the blame on her shoulders, desperate to get the Fairfax off the hook.
Autumn and the Belmonts threw dignity to the wind as they launched into a heated shouting match with the Fairfaxes, all pretense of civility forgotten.
All the guests were dumbfounded.
They really underestimated how intriguing the drama was. The twists kept coming, each more shocking than the last.
Beatrice was dumbfounded, too.
Right when it mattered most, Madeline had turned on Autumn, dragging her name through the mud. Now these former allies. were at each other’s throats.
Beatrice tilted her head, observing Desmond’s reaction. His expression froze, like someone had turned him to stone. She knew how much he cared about his precious reputation–and now it was crumbling right in front of him.
Chapter 24 Mi Damian
Serves him right, she thought. That’s what you get for being a cheater.
“Beatrice, I’m so sorry. I’ll pay for all your medical expenses. With how advanced medical science is today, there’s even hope for curing something like AIDS.”
Madeline’s regretful cry rang out. Beatrice shifted her gaze at her, only to see her wiping away non–existent tears, putting on an act as if she was fully aware of her wrongdoings and pleading for forgiveness.
Yel, Beatrice could still discern the malice and glee hidden within her
eyes.
Madeline wasn’t the least bit afraid of her crimes coming to light and didn’t hesitate to throw Autumn under the bus. All she cared about was getting the false story out that Beatrice had been raped and was infected with AIDS.
She was naturally spiteful, finding joy only in others‘ misery!
Beatrice sneered, “Firstly, I have no intention of forgiving you, and I’ve already called the police. Secondly, sorry to burst your bubble. Last night, a kindhearted man came to my rescue, so those thugs you hired didn’t succeed. I’m perfectly healthy and not about to die. But you! You will definitely end up behind bars!”
Madeline was shocked.
Just a moment ago, she was sincerely repenting and shedding

tears, but in the blink of an eye, she froze. The regret, sadness, and look of apology on her face gradually flaked away, bit by bit, similar to the way paint chips off a wall, eventually uncovering her inherently wicked nature.
Desmond was delighted upon hearing that.
He approached Beatrice. “Really? Really?”
But she didn’t even cast a glance at him.
Desmond’s reaction enraged Madeline. Her voice turned as shrill as a ghost’s shrick. “This is impossible! That hotel is renowned for its top–notch privacy. The room is so isolated that no one would ever set foot there! Who on earth could have saved you? Who would save you? A god?”
Beatrice replied, “If you insist that he is a god, then indeed, he is like one.”
The delicate scent on Damian’s hands and the gentle look on his face as he assured her she was safe made him seem almost divine. To her, he appeared tall, strikingly handsome, and surrounded by a warm, ethereal glow.
Madeline roared, “I don’t believe it. There is no such person. You are just trying to convince Desmond that you weren’t raped.“–
Beatrice snorted coldly, “I don’t need to convince him. And even if I was assaulted, I’m not the one who’s dirty or guilty. That shame belongs to the attackers–and to you, the one who

Madeline was incredulous, and her anger swiftly turned into madness. “Cut the crap. You claimed that someone saved you, right? Call him out! Bring your god here! Let everyone see who this guy is!”
Beatrice fell silent.
She was unwilling to mention Damian’s name.
Someone of his status wouldn’t want to be dragged into this messy drama. After all he’d done for her, she couldn’t bear to cause him any more trouble.
“Speechless now? I know you are lying!” Beatrice’s silence made. Madeline more aggressive.
Desmond’s glimmer of hope appeared to be dimming.
He did not stop Madeline’s questioning because he was curious
about it, too.
“I am not a god, but I indeed saved her.”
From the far end of the group of guests, a voice, both leisurely and mellow, rang out.
Everyone glanced back.
There, standing in the doorway–though no one had noticed him. enter–was a devastatingly handsome man. His presence
