Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 197

When Daniel reached the hospital, all he could hear were the heart-wrenching cries echoing down the corridor.

He stopped abruptly, a wave of dread rising in his chest.

It felt as if—suddenly, everything had spun wildly out of control.

Aurora.

He strode toward the emergency room.

The doors stood wide open. A heavy sense of foreboding settled over him.

Will approached quietly. “Mrs. Grace Quinn has passed away.”

Muffled sobs came from nearby. Eleanor pressed a hand to her mouth, her eyes rimmed red. “Grandma…”

Mrs. Quinn had her arms around her, grief etched deep in every line of her face.

Daniel didn’t spare them a glance. He walked straight into the emergency room.

Mrs. Quinn wiped at her tears and gave Eleanor a gentle push.

Eleanor hurried after Daniel.

Inside, Nora was kneeling on the cold tile floor, clutching the old woman’s hand, her body wracked with sobs.

Grandma… There was no one left to love her anymore.

Under the harsh fluorescent lights, Nora looked like she might shatter at any moment.

Daniel knelt down beside her, his own hands trembling.

The loss had come so suddenly, so brutally.

He spoke softly, trying to comfort her. “Aurora, you need to stay calm.”

“You’re pregnant, remember?”

Pregnant?

Nora… pregnant?

Eleanor froze, her gaze dropping sharply to Nora’s stomach, a strange glint flickering in her eyes.

“Grandma,” Eleanor suddenly blurted out, dropping to her knees beside the bed.

Only then did Nora realize Eleanor had entered the room.

Strength surged through her fragile body, fueled by anger. She glared at Eleanor, voice cold and venomous. “Get out. I don’t want you here.”

Don’t let Grandma’s last moments be disturbed.

Tears streaked her face as she forced the words out.

“If you hadn’t upset Grandma, none of this would have happened.”

“Your crying is just making things worse for her now.”

Eleanor shook her head, devastated. “I… I didn’t mean to. I only wanted to know the truth about you pretending to be Aurora.”

So, in the end, it was all Nora’s fault.

Daniel spoke softly, “Aurora, we should take care of Grandma’s arrangements first.”

A crushing grief swept over Nora. She looked down at her grandmother’s peaceful, pale face, her throat tight with pain.

Her fingers trembled as she reached to touch the old woman’s cheek, unable to accept that she was truly gone.

Her body swayed, unsteady.

“Aurora.” Daniel reached out to steady her.

But before his hand could touch her, Nora collapsed backward in a dead faint.

Daniel caught her just in time, scooping her up in his arms. His voice was tense and urgent. “Get a doctor. Now!”
