Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 213

“Mr. Chambers, the doctor’s here.”

Will knocked gently on the door.

When it opened, Nora stepped out.

Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes still glistening with tears. Her lips were swollen, her fists clenched tightly at her sides, and her long hair was a little mussed.

Will quickly lowered his gaze, not daring to look any longer.

Daniel followed close behind, looking decidedly calmer than before. He reached out and all but dragged Nora over to the sofa, making her sit down beside him.

Mrs. Chambers and Monica were practically shooting daggers at them with their eyes.

Even though not a sound had come from the room in the past half hour, it didn’t take a genius to figure out what had transpired. Nora’s appearance only confirmed their suspicions.

Monica was seething. Nora was pregnant, and yet she was still shamelessly clinging to Daniel.

How utterly disgraceful.

The doctor gave Daniel an injection, left some medication behind, and packed up his things to leave in a hurry.

Nora stood to go as well, but Daniel caught her by the wrist and pulled her back down.

Monica looked about ready to burst into flames.

Just then, Will spoke up in a low voice, “Mr. Cooper and the old man have arrived.”

A tall, handsome man and an elderly gentleman leaning on a cane entered the room. Both surveyed the scene with impassive expressions.

Monica immediately burst into tears. “Hans!”

She’d never been so humiliated in her life.

Hans frowned, shrugged out of his suit jacket, and draped it over Monica’s shoulders to cover her up.

Only then did Monica dare to step out from behind the sofa. She pointed accusingly at Nora. “She bullied me!”

“That’s enough.” Hans glared at his sister, his tone sharp. “Haven’t you made enough of a scene?”

He already knew what had happened here, and his head was pounding with it all.

“If I were Aurora and knew you used my name to seduce a man, I’d regret ever saving you. I should’ve just let you die on the street.”

“She must’ve been blind. Maybe, if it weren’t for you, she’d still be alive.”

Nora’s pupils contracted, her face draining of color.

Monica’s words struck at the deepest wound in her heart. Years ago, Aurora had died in that fire, saving her.

“That’s enough.” Hans’s voice was like ice, his eyes flashing with fury. “Monica, no one wants to hear another word from you. Shut your mouth.”

But Monica wasn’t about to stop. “I—”

“Monica, do you think I’m going to let this slide?” Daniel’s voice was dangerously low, his glare almost predatory.

Monica shrank back, but still refused to admit she’d done anything wrong.

“Dan, she’s a murderer! How can you stand to be with her, she—”

Hans cut her off, yanking her by the arm. “Enough, Monica.”
