Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 358

Her heart ached with bitterness.

Nora had no desire to engage further. She took Payne’s hand and turned to leave.

Judy couldn’t hold back any longer. She blurted out, “Do you still love him?”

Nora gently touched her belly. “What do you think?”

She sidestepped the question, not giving Judy a direct answer.

Tears welled in Judy’s eyes, threatening to spill over. “You… you two…”

Suddenly, a voice interrupted. “Judy? What are you doing here?” Louis’s tone broke the tension as he strode over.

He reached Judy’s side in a few quick steps, noticing the tears on her cheeks. “What’s wrong?”

Nora spoke plainly, “She found out. Payne is your son.”

A flash of panic crossed Louis’s face. “Judy, let me explain.”

He grasped Judy’s hand, desperation plain in his voice. “Payne was never planned. It just happened. He’s with Nora now. Please… try not to let it bother you, okay?”

His plea was humble, almost pleading.

Nora’s eyes widened in surprise, but she kept quiet. She didn’t buy Louis’s sudden display of affection for Judy. What was he up to?

Her mind raced—should she help Louis out of this mess? But then she remembered who stood across from her. It was Judy. The thought vanished.

Judy wiped her tears, turned away, and got into her car. The engine started, and she drove off.

Louis started after her, but only managed a few steps before stopping. Whatever tenderness had been in his eyes was gone.

“What are you planning?” Nora asked bluntly.

Louis ruffled Payne’s hair, his voice flat. “I’m trying to win her over.”

Win her over?

Nora didn’t believe him. “You don’t love her.”

She knew Louis too well to accept that.

He let out a light laugh, his tone relaxed. “No, I do love her.”

“You…”

Nora didn’t spare a single glance for anyone else. She took a small bowl for Payne, picked out some of his favorite dishes, then asked a maid to take him to the living room. She didn’t want him around in case things got tense.

Donna put on a bright smile. “The nanny can take care of the little one, Aurora. Don’t trouble yourself—come eat and look after that baby you’re carrying.”

Nora said nothing.

Donna sighed. “You’re still upset?”

Nora picked up her fork. “Are we eating or not?”

The forced smile almost slipped from Donna’s face. She shot Daniel a look.

Daniel reached out and caught Nora’s wrist. “Wait a second.”

Nora looked at him calmly.

“Aurora,” Daniel began, his voice measured but firm, “I want to say something about Eleanor.”

Nora set her fork down. “Go ahead.”

She was genuinely curious to hear what he could possibly say.
