Trash Husband, I'm the Top novel Chapter 360

Una sat in silence for a long time before finally speaking in a quiet, steady voice. “I’m going back to the Cooper family.”

“Una,” Nora pleaded gently, “everything’s set for you to study abroad. Please, don’t go back to them.”

“I can’t leave anymore, Aurora. I have to go back.”

She needed answers about her parents’ deaths.

Una told her about David’s visit to the hospital, about how he’d said her parents had been murdered to keep them quiet.

“That’s just a story David made up,” Nora said quickly, trying to keep Una calm. “You need to think this through.”

“But I found my mother’s ring,” Una choked out, tears suddenly streaming down her face. She was barely holding herself together. “That ring—she never took it off.”

Nora could only try to soothe her, but Una’s mind was set. Nora hurried to the hospital herself.

When she arrived, she found two middle-aged women had already packed up all of Una’s things.

Una had changed out of her hospital gown. She stood by the window, pale and sorrowful, gazing at Nora.

“Aurora, you’re here.”

Nora rushed to her side and whispered, “You can look into what happened to your parents after you graduate and come back. I’m here—I’ll keep an eye out for any news.”

There was no need to return to the Cooper family. That place was cold and loveless.

“I’ve made up my mind. You don’t have to talk me out of it.” Una opened her palm to reveal a plain silver ring.

“This was my mother’s.” Tears slid down Una’s cheeks.

She’d seen her mother wear that ring every day for twenty years. She would know it anywhere.

Nora’s eyes stung with emotion. She pulled Una into a hug. “Una…”

What could she possibly do for her?

“Ms. Lawson, everything’s ready,” one of the women called impatiently.

Una gently pushed Nora away. “Aurora, goodbye.”

She left without looking back.

A few minutes later, Hans arrived breathless, only to find Nora alone in the room. Panic flickered across his face. “Where is she?”
