The thought that Enoch actually had a thing for Drusilla...
Oberon found it somewhat unfathomable.
After all, in his eyes, Drusilla didn't have a single trait that matched up with Enoch.
Just then, Drusilla's phone rang, breaking the silence of the cozy bedroom.
Enoch glanced at her phone resting on the pillow, reached out to grab it, turned off the alarm, and placed it back.
Drusilla slept for a while longer before waking up.
Without the alarm, it was thoughts of Colton and Cormac that pulled her from slumber.
Waking to find Enoch by her side, she was a bit surprised. "You didn't go to work?"
Her voice was hoarse and dry from a fever.
Enoch looked at her, handing over a glass of water. "Take your medicine."
Drusilla took the glass and downed the pills, asking weakly, "What time is it?"
"Four o'clock."
"What?" Drusilla hadn't heard the alarm and had thought she had more time. After hearing Enoch's words, she quickly checked her phone—indeed...
Four-fifteen!
She panicked. "How did it get so late? My alarm didn't go off?"
She couldn't have slept so deeply that she missed the alarm!
"It did. I turned it off for you," Enoch said. "You need to focus on getting better right now. Everything else can wait."
Drusilla looked at him, momentarily unsure whether to be grateful for his 'kindness'. "I have urgent matters."
Though it was already late! She was desperate to pick up the kids.
Ignoring everything else, she tried to get out of bed, but Enoch, with decisive action, pressed her back down.
Drusilla looked at him impatiently. "What are you doing? I really have something important!"
