Right then, Drusilla’s phone began to buzz.
She grabbed it, glanced at the screen, and saw the name "Verena" flashing.
And there was Enoch, glancing over at her phone.
With a bit of guilt, Drusilla avoided Enoch's gaze and answered the call.
"Drusilla, I heard that you've caught a cold." Verena's voice came through the phone.
Drusilla nodded and said, "Yeah."
Verena said, "Then you rest up. I've already picked up Colton and Cormac. I'll take them to stay over at my place tonight."
Feeling guilty for having Colton and Cormac stay over at the Taylors' last night, Verena had been eager to make amends.
In the afternoon, Blythe had called her, offering to pick up Colton and Cormac.
Verena refused outright! She hurried to pick up Colton and Cormac.
Luckily, her boss, considering she had returned late last night, had given her the day off to rest.
Drusilla had been worrying nonstop, but hearing Verena's words, she breathed a sigh of relief. "Thanks."
She had been wondering what to do about the kids since she couldn't leave, and then Verena had called. To her, Verena was like an angel, always there to help.
After hanging up, Drusilla let out a sigh of relief. She put down her phone, turned back, and saw Enoch looking less anxious than before.
Enoch sat beside her, asking, "Who was that?"
"Just a friend."
"Your friend's named Verena?" Enoch asked.
Drusilla paused, replying, "What's it to you?"
Why was he asking about this all of a sudden?
