Enoch shot Serge a look. "Since when did you bother to treat cold?"
Serge replied with a smirk, "I'm a jack-of-all-trades, master of everything."
Seeing Enoch scowling, Serge decided not to tease him further, chuckled a bit, and then turned to Drusilla, "You take it easy. I'll swing by later."
Drusilla nodded at his words, wondering if this meant there was news about the favor she had asked him for.
Enoch, sitting nearby, noticed the change in Drusilla's demeanor whenever Serge showed up. Her eyes sparkled in a way they never did around him, almost as if she wished she could attach them to Serge's face!
Enoch couldn't help but comment, "Is he really that fascinating?"
His tone was unmistakably sarcastic.
Drusilla, not wanting to delve into the specifics of her request to Dr. Denton, brushed it off with, "Dr. Denton's been looking sharper than ever! Haven’t seen a doctor more handsome than him; he's like something out of a movie."
"Shallow!" Enoch looked at her with disdain.
Drusilla retorted, "Appreciating beauty is human nature! Don’t you like pretty women?"
His gaze lingered on Drusilla's face, which was indeed beautiful. It was hard to tell she was a mother of two. Raising an eyebrow, he said, "Not really, I prefer the ugly ones."
He found it strange that lately, when he saw other women at the office, they all seemed plain and unremarkable compared to Drusilla.
Drusilla missed the sarcasm and simply laughed. "Mr. Taylor, your taste is truly unique. No wonder you're still..."
She was about to say "still single" but remembered a lesson learned and wisely shut her mouth.
Seeing her stop mid-sentence, Enoch could guess what she was about to say. It seemed she had learned her lesson.
