Lilith's scowl deepened, her disbelief in Drusilla's words clear. "Really, stirring the pot, are we? You must think you're quite the puppet master. Me and him, we're solid. Your little games won't change a thing! Him, wanting to be with you? Now, that's a laugh!"

Even though Lilith knew Drusilla was full of it, she couldn't help but storm off in a huff.

Drusilla watched her leave, a smug twist to her lips before she headed upstairs.

Upon entering the room, she saw Enoch lounging by the couch, with Oberon briefing him on some work matters. Seeing her, Oberon greeted, "Ma'am."

Enoch's gaze shifted to her, taking in her scant attire. The temperature had dropped today, and her cold made her look all the more fragile.

His expression turned stern. "Oberon, give us a moment," he commanded.

Oberon nodded, collecting his papers and leaving the room.

Enoch's eyes lingered on Drusilla, then quickly looked away, his demeanor icy.

Drusilla, puzzled, approached the couch. "Enoch?"

He merely sipped his water, ignoring her.

Drusilla was at a loss. She attempted to lighten the mood, "What did I do to tick you off this time, Mr. Taylor?"

His gaze finally met hers. "Aren't you aware of your own condition? Serge really means that much to you, huh? To the point you'd brave the cold just for a chat?"

Was it her imagination, or was there a hint of jealousy in his tone?

No way.

Drusilla quickly dismissed the thought. Enoch, jealous?

"Look, I've been cooped up all day. Just wanted a breath of fresh air while discussing some things with Dr. Denton."

"What things?" Enoch's focus was unyielding. "You mentioned needing Serge's help the first time we met."

Drusilla couldn't possibly reveal the truth about the children to Enoch.
