With a marriage certificate, he still couldn't hold a candle to Serge?
"Wait till I divorce you, maybe I'll get a chance with him! One has to explore their options, after all! Plus, I found out today that Dr. Denton's been really nice to me," Drusilla said, spicing up her reasoning for effect.
Enoch's face darkened as he looked at Drusilla and asked, "Are you seriously planning on hooking up with Serge after we divorce?"
Before, Enoch thought that with Serge's personality, he would never fall for Drusilla.
But now, thinking it over, maybe someone with a unique taste like his would actually prefer a divorced woman.
Especially Serge, cooped up in the hospital all day, not meeting many women...
Yet, for some reason, the thought irked Enoch!
Drusilla was his, and now, she was openly setting her sights on Serge!
And Drusilla, far from repenting, added fuel to the fire, "Yeah, I heard from Lilith that his family is pretty well-off. For a woman like me, I definitely look at the other person's background. Don't you think?"
Enoch scoffed, "You must be the only wife in the world thinking of her next move before even getting divorced. Do you know what that's called?"
"What?"
"Emotional cheating."
Drusilla, hearing his words, smirked, "Isn't that a bit much? When I leave you, can't I find someone else?"
She was just trying to muddle through, but somehow the conversation had taken a bizarre turn, and even Drusilla found it amusing.
Enoch said, "Sure, but Serge is off-limits."
"Why?" Drusilla asked, puzzled.
Enoch replied, "Because he's into men."
If this topic continued, she would drive him insane.
Drusilla said, "I'm not that hungry."
"You've barely eaten anything for lunch. Eat something for dinner, and you'll feel better. Of course, if you want to stay sick and have me take care of you forever, you can skip it."
Hearing Enoch's words, Drusilla said, "You could've left off that last part."
Even though he was expressing concern, he had to say something that made her speechless.
She wasn't a child; she would eat when she needed to.
Soon enough, Enoch had food brought up. He didn't go down to eat, choosing instead to stay in the room with her.
Drusilla sat there, looking at Enoch. "I can eat by myself, so why don't you go down and eat?"
