Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 212

Sitting quietly on the side, Drusilla watched him, listening to his conversation with someone else. The conversation was peppered with some technical jargon she didn't fully grasp.

The daycare's doors swung open, and teachers started to emerge, children in tow.

Glancing at Enoch, Drusilla asked, "Shall I go pick up the kids?"

"Go ahead," Enoch replied.

After Drusilla got out of the car, Oberon followed suit.

Even though she picked up her children every day, Drusilla felt unusually nervous today. Her steps faltered as she led the way.

Walking by her side, Oberon flashed a smile and asked, "Madam, feeling a bit jittery?"

"A bit," Drusilla admitted. "It's one thing picking up my own kids from school, quite another picking up 'someone else's' kids for the first time."

"You'll get used to it," Oberon reassured her.

"I'll head in then," Drusilla said, deciding to seize the moment to break the ice with the two kids to avoid any slip-ups.

"Are you sure you'll be okay?" Oberon asked, somewhat doubtful, yet he waited at the entrance as instructed.

Once inside, Drusilla greeted the teacher and caught sight of her two boys. They ran towards her, embracing her with cries of "Mommy."

This was precisely the scene Drusilla feared Oberon witnessing.

After all, in the eyes of Enoch and Oberon, she wasn't the biological mother of these two children.

If the children showed such warmth towards her, it might raise suspicions.

Turning to Colton and Cormac, Drusilla said, "Let's go."

She led the children out, first taking them to the restroom. There, she explained the situation, "Colton, Cormac, from today onwards, we're going to move in with Dad."

Cormac looked at Drusilla warily, "Mom, are you leaving us?"

Once Drusilla finished briefing the kids, they headed out to find Oberon still waiting at the entrance. He looked a bit anxious. "I was worried you wouldn't come out!"

He had briefly entertained the unfounded fear that Drusilla might run off with the children.

"We just went to the restroom," Drusilla explained, introducing, "This is Oberon."

"Hello, Mr. Oberon," Cormac greeted.

Colton gave Oberon a cool glance but remained silent.

Oberon, looking at the two boys who bore such a striking resemblance to Enoch, felt a wave of emotion. Although he had seen them at the Taylor estate before, the sight of the little ones still filled him with awe, as if he were in the presence of Enoch himself.

"Let's get in the car," he suggested respectfully, reaching out to help Colton.

Colton, maintaining his aloof demeanor, ignored the offered hand and instead reached for Drusilla.
