Even though the twins looked identical, their personalities were poles apart.
Colton was the mysterious type, not really into mingling, and even Verena, who was usually the darling of everyone, couldn't seem to get close. The only person he seemed to warm up to was Drusilla.
Oberon, quite taken aback by Colton's demeanor, was about to say something when Cormac grabbed his hand, saying, "Mr. Oberon, let's go!"
Compared to Colton, Cormac was practically an angel.
Oberon couldn't help but smile, feeling a warmth spread through him at the sight of Cormac.
"You can just call me Oberon, little guy," he told Cormac.
"But that wouldn't be polite. My mom says manners matter," Cormac insisted.
Oberon chuckled, impressed, thinking, "That woman sure knows how to raise kids."
In the car, Enoch was still on the phone. Oberon helped Cormac into the car first, and upon seeing Cormac, Enoch's eyes betrayed a flicker of surprise.
He had always heard that the kids resembled him, but he hadn't expected this level of similarity...
The SUV they were in today was spacious, chosen specifically for picking up the kids.
Cormac, upon climbing in and seeing Enoch, paused for a moment before sitting across from him. "So, this is my dad?" he thought, noticing the resemblance.
It was the first they were meeting, and the air was thick with mixed emotions.
"Hello," Cormac greeted, extending his hand for a handshake.
Enoch, observing his son, felt an unusual stir of emotions. He wasn't usually fond of kids, but Cormac was different. He reached out, shaking his hand.
Cormac then quietly took his seat, sneaking glances at his dad.
As Oberon got into the driver’s seat, the engine hummed to life, and they left the daycare behind.
The ride was quiet, a heavy silence filling the space.
Soon, Enoch's phone rang.
"Mom," he answered.
Drusilla could hear the conversation, Blythe's voice coming through cold and stern, "What are you planning to do about my grandsons?"
She pressed Enoch daily, displeased with his lack of involvement with the kids.
"We just picked them up from school," Enoch replied, his tone calm.
Hearing this, Blythe's demeanor changed instantly, her voice brightening, "Really? When are you coming back?"
