"Now! And from now on, they're going to live there."
Blythe had been on Enoch's case every single day, and he always seemed to be dragging his feet. But hearing that things were moving along so quickly now, her mood instantly lifted.
"Did you clear it with Verena?"
"Yeah, we had lunch together."
"She agreed to let the kids come back?" Blythe thought there was no way Verena would give in that easily, unless Enoch had agreed to marry her!
But then...
Enoch said, "Yes."
Verena didn't ask for anything, not even money, just agreed to let the kids come back, which even Enoch found surprising.
Didn't she insist on getting married before?
But now that things were settled, Enoch didn't dwell on it.
Blythe said, "Then I'll be waiting for you guys!"
She sounded really happy.
Enoch hung up the phone.
Drusilla looked at the phone and asked, "Was that your mom?"
Enoch nodded, "Yeah."
"She must be thrilled to know Colton and Cormac are coming back!"
Drusilla was in the loop. Because of the kids, the once harmonious mother-son duo had been barely talking, and when they did, it often ended in arguments.
Enoch, now wheelchair-bound, had rarely been treated so harshly by Blythe before. But the tension over the kids had made their interactions far less gentle.
Enoch said, "Yeah."
Drusilla looked at Enoch and smiled.
...
At the Taylor household, after Blythe hung up the phone, Lilith, sitting nearby, asked, "Grandma, what did Uncle Enoch say? Colton and Cormac are coming back?"
