Drusilla rose to her feet and stepped outside, the evening air crisp and cool.
Blythe, with a tone of seriousness, asked, "Did you speak about this with him?"
Despite having reprimanded Harlan earlier downstairs, Blythe was still uncomfortable with the idea of instilling hate in a child's mind.
"I did not," Drusilla firmly denied.
Colton's dislike for Harlan stemmed entirely from a past incident where Harlan had hurt him.
"I hope not!" Blythe said. "I know you and Harlan have your differences, your personal feuds, but I hope you understand that my grandson is not a pawn in your game of revenge."
Drusilla looked at Blythe, a slight frown on her face, pondering how to prove her innocence.
At that moment, Colton emerged, standing in front of Drusilla, facing Blythe, "You can't talk about her like that!"
Blythe was taken aback by Colton's defense of Drusilla.
"Colton," Drusilla said softly.
His defense made Blythe even more suspicious that Drusilla had been influencing him behind the scenes!
Blythe's gaze softened as Colton looked at her, his voice filled with a plaintive tone, "I just don't like that man. I don't want him in my room. Is that so wrong? It's not Drusilla’s fault."
Since they had agreed not to reveal their relationship in front of the Taylor family, Colton directly called Drusilla by her name.
Easing up, Blythe crouched down, "Alright, I got it wrong. I won't blame her. From now on, no one you don't like will enter your room, okay?"
Colton nodded.
Blythe, leading him back inside, said, "Let's go back in. By the way, where's Cormac?"
"Cormac's with Enoch. Colton didn't want to go over, so I stayed here with him," Drusilla explained.
