Before Lilith could even open her mouth, Enoch cut in, addressing Lilith, "If you don't want to have dinner, you can leave right now."
Lilith huffed, pouting, "Uncle Enoch, it's not like I'm trying to stir up trouble. I just think it's totally irrational of you to have Colton and Cormac looked after by this woman."
"I have my reasons for what I do, and I don't need you second-guessing me."
"But look at the bruise on Harlan's forehead, that's all Colton's doing! Who knows what this Aunt of mine has been whispering to Colton to make him act out like this. Colton's always been such a good kid; if it weren't for her stirring the pot, why would he do something like this?"
Hearing this, Enoch's face darkened as he turned to Colton, who was sitting next to Drusilla, and asked, "Colton, did you do this?"
Colton glanced at Enoch but remained silent.
"If you did, you owe Harlan an apology."
Seeing Enoch get angry, but not at Drusilla, rather at Colton, Harlan quickly jumped in to defend, "Uncle Enoch, it's okay, kids will be kids. It's not his fault."
Lilith chimed in, "Uncle Enoch, what's the point of blaming a kid? Kids don't know any better."
"Even so, if a kid does something wrong, they need to take responsibility. He hit Harlan, so it's on him, not Drusilla. He just got back today; how could it be Drusilla's fault? If anyone's to blame, it's his mom for not raising him right."
Drusilla frowned upon hearing this, her gaze turning towards Enoch.
He's saying she didn't raise Colton right? Even though she knew Enoch was trying to defend her, his words still felt a bit harsh.
"Verena raised her kids well; look at Cormac, he's such an angel."
“This dad is so mean! He's not nice to me at all! It was clear he favored Cormac over me!”
With that thought, he was overwhelmed with sadness.
Seeing her grandson in tears, Blythe frowned at Enoch, "Enoch, does it have to be like this? The kids just got back, we were supposed to have a nice dinner together, why ruin the mood?"
"I'm just teaching him to take responsibility for his actions. Would Cormac ever act like this? If he doesn't apologize today, he's not getting dinner."
Drusilla spoke up, "Enoch."
That was a bit too harsh! After all, the kids are just different in their own ways. Cormac has his charm, and so does Colton; he's just not as outgoing and extroverted, preferring not to explain himself too much.
