Twins - The Unforeseen Legacy of My Ex's Uncle-in-Law novel Chapter 234

In the afternoon, Enoch had a bit of a go at Colton, and now, Colton was still holding a grudge.

If they didn't smooth things over, the little guy was likely to cry himself to sleep.

Enoch said, "Sure, but you have to promise to help me with my bath."

"Are you a child?" Drusilla looked at him, exasperated.

Nice move, trying to take advantage of the situation, huh?

Enoch just shrugged, "Your call."

Drusilla stepped out to call Colton and Cormac, "Your dad's got some snacks in his room, come on over, have some fruit."

"I don't want to." Just the mention of Enoch's room was enough to fill Colton with objections.

Drusilla looked at Colton, saying, "If you come, I'll sleep in your room tonight."

"Really?" Colton's eyes lit up.

Drusilla nodded, "Yeah."

Her promise overcame his aversion to Enoch, and Colton followed Drusilla and Cormac out of his room to Enoch's.

It was Colton's first time entering Enoch's room. He stood by the door, completely amazed by the various models on the shelves.

Drusilla noticed him lingering, "Come on in."

Colton hesitated, then followed Drusilla, sulking a bit as he entered the room.

Enoch was sitting on the couch, a blanket over his legs.

Cormac approached him, saying, "Dad, I brought Colton to see you."

Enoch nodded. He looked at Colton, noticing his sullen face. It was rare to see such a serious kid. Enoch was at a loss for words. Especially with Drusilla standing there, desperately signaling him to make conversation.

Enoch looked at the stubborn youngster, "But I think you were!"

"I wasn't."

Enoch began to explain today's incident, "Tell me, wasn't it because you lashed out that your mother took the blame? Wasn't she kind to you? Making someone who cares about you get blamed because of your actions, do you still think you did nothing wrong?"

Colton glanced at Drusilla, remembering how others had spoken ill of her, and suddenly felt a bit guilty.

Maybe Enoch had a point. Colton looked down at his fingers, "But I don't want to apologize."

"Why not?"Enoch asked.

Colton said, "That person was mean to mom, saying nasty things. I don't like him, and I don't want him in my room."

Colton rarely spoke this much. He was usually quite reserved. But now, in front of Enoch, he didn't want to lose the argument.
