Drusilla retorted, "Isn't it obvious? Since Enoch left them in my care, their fate is mine to decide. You'd do better watching over yourself than meddling in my business!"
"Drusilla!" Lilith exclaimed, her voice laced with anger.
But Drusilla met her gaze without flinching.
Lilith remembered that she had been hit by Drusilla once before, and she hadn't been able to get back at her since.
Casting one last glance at Drusilla, Lilith stormed off in a huff.
Colton and Cormac watched Drusilla, murmuring, "Mom."
"It's time for school," Drusilla told them. "Hurry up and get dressed."
Obediently, Colton and Cormac nodded and quickly got ready.
...
Downstairs, Lilith sat at the breakfast table, fuming. Blythe had already prepared breakfast for the kids.
Turning to Blythe, Lilith vented, "Grandma, don't you think she's being too much?"
Blythe, already aware of the clash between Drusilla and Lilith, looked at Lilith's angry face and said, "Actually, I don't see much wrong in what she said."
Lilith couldn't believe her ears, "Grandma, how can you suddenly start taking her side?"
"If you could make Colton and Cormac adore you the way they do her, then you could also have their affection," Blythe reasoned.
