She sat with Drusilla for a while before glancing at her, "How about you take a shower first? Your hair is all drenched."
She picked up a towel from her side and handed it to Drusilla, helping her to dab her hair dry.
Drusilla looked at Verena, took the towel from her, gave herself a quick wipe, and then headed for the bathroom.
Verena sat on the couch, listening to the sound of Drusilla showering, and the more she thought about it, the more dumbfounded she felt.
She had thought that if Enoch was good to Drusilla, even if Odette came back, it shouldn't really matter, right?
But who could have guessed, they were actually heading for a divorce?
Now, the kids have been sent back to the Taylor family!
They were actually getting a divorce?
Verena furrowed her brow, remembering how she had always been the one trying to set Enoch and Drusilla up. It was also her... who had the kids undergo a paternity test, sending them back to the Taylor family!
At this thought, she felt utterly ashamed; she had really messed up.
After her shower, Drusilla came out of the bathroom, towel drying her hair. Verena sat on the edge of the bed,
looking at her, and said, “Don’t be too hard on yourself, I’m going to confront Enoch tomorrow, that scoundrel, see if I don’t give him a piece of my mind, the jerk, making you this upset.”
Drusilla paused upon hearing Verena's words, “Don’t go!”
She was afraid Verena would really do it!
“Why shouldn’t I?” Verena asked, “You’ve been so good to him, curing his sickness not to mention, and you two have kids together, and this is how he treats you? It’s heartless! Just because he’s Enoch, does he think he can do whatever he pleases?”
Drusilla sighed, “Verena, I’m just so tired, I want to sleep for a bit.”
“Where are you?” came Blythe’s voice through the phone, Blythe’s nagging tone came through, “Drusilla, Enoch left the kids with you, and this is how you look after them? Not coming home all night! Enoch didn’t come back either! Enoch has his own things to deal with, but what about you? You can’t even take care of two kids?”
Blythe hadn’t wanted to reach out to Drusilla, but with Drusilla away, the kids kept asking for her, driving her to her wit's end, leaving her no choice but to call.
Having slept a bit, Drusilla felt somewhat more clear-headed. She sat up, glanced at the wall clock, and realized how late it was.
Thinking of the kids, she said, “Alright, I’ll be right back.”
Her mood was foul, but... the kids were still at the Taylor family's, she couldn’t just leave them!
She dressed and left Verena’s place, heading straight back to the Taylor family.
Blythe was sitting on the couch when she walked in and said, “Where were you last night? You didn’t come back, didn’t even call. Colton and Cormac have a school play today, did you know?”
